im getting a PS3 either today or tomorrow (for 300 bones might i add!!!) and i need a single game recommendation. There are several games im going to be buying for 360 in the next few weeks (The Darkness being one) and i need a PS3 game that will keep me going for a while.

It will be nice to have a bluray player... im looking forward to seeing Casino Royale and The Last Samurai in high def.

You will be getting more than a one game recommendation from me, mate: Resistance, MGS 4, FFXIII, MotorStorm, Killzone 2, F1 Championship Edition, Uncharted and many more. :P

Motorstorm is great, but I think a lot of people are assuming it is your only game to play. It's more of an arcade racer so as such it is more fun in short doses, but not something most people will play for hours on end. Personally its the funnest racing game I've played all year and I love it.

why not get the darkness for ps3 since it has those full movies in high def on the tvs you can watch, I know it doesnt make a difference but if the games are exactly the same in graphics and so on mayaswell get that extra little gimick in there with the ps3 version

Resistance or MLB 07: The Show if you like baseball. Also, if you haven't played Oblivion on 360 yet, you need to check it out (for either PS3 or 360... PS3 looks prettier, but 360 has some DLC)

if you're a FPS fan the killzone, Resistance will be yours. If you're a Racing fan then motorstorm, GT5 will be yours. If you're a Action FAN then Tekken5, Heavenly Sword. IF you're a RPG fan i recommand Final Fantasy XIII

Enchanted arms and Marvel ultimate alliance gave me lots of fun (they're multiplatform though ...)

On Blu-ray : get Casino royale, Hellboy, Into the blue (Jessica Alba in HD ...), X-men the last stand

oblivion. you can easily play 100+ hours and not even start on the main quest. it never gets boring.

Resistance first.

Next get Oblivion and/or Ninja Gaiden Sigma if you haven't played them elsewhere. Motorstorm is really awesome but with not much content... well worth a rental or a lower price purchase.

If you have not played Oblivion yet then definitely get Oblivion. If you have played Oblivion then Resistence.

Resistance will keep you playing for awhile. It has a pretty decent campaign mode, and the multi-player lets you play with 39 other players online so that will keep you coming back for more.

im just not sure on the whole FPS on consoles experience yet, atleast as far as the game being solely based around guns. In the Darkness, you have powers and such which make you really not have to rely on the shotty aiming with the controller. I like the idea of resistance, but i really kind of want a racing game. I love FPS games, but i dunno..... i think it is really down to resistance or motorstorm at this point. its hard for me to decide, because i really get a lot of enjoyment out of both types of games (FPS moreso on the PC) and motorstorm has online racing, which i am REALLY excited about. can someone who has both weigh the pros and cons? thanks
