I'm getting Desperate pls help me!! Ok that might have come a bit too strong but I really need help. I bought my ps3 about 3/4 weeks ago and I got the following games : Virtua Fighter 5, virtua tennis 3, Assassin's creed, Uncharted and Warhawk. So here is my problem --- Ended Assasins creed and Uncharted in less than 1 week, Virtua tennis is Boring, Virtua fighter / Warhawk they are ok.

I need suggestions, What game should I buy ??!! I need a game with longevity , not some other hackn'slash that keeps me occupied for less than 1 week, I need a game that will occupy my time till some of the big 08 Games are launched (GTA, MGS4, GT, etc...) Keep in mind that I've already spent +100 hours on the Original Oblivion PC version, Have COD4 on pc, not a BIG fan on fps for the console ( but if it's a good one I'll give it a try ofc)...

So Thanks in advance for your help!!!

You finished Assassin's Creed in a week? Did you get all of the collectibles? Or did you just blow through the missions?

Not really a big fan of sports game, sure it's nice to have a soccer / basket game to play with some friends but still not quite what I'm looking for...

About assassin's creed, well i didnt get all the flags, but seriously that's not quite what i call "FUN TIME" looking for a bunch of flags hidden around in cities....

Tried burnout's demo and it looks amazing, but I'm worried I'll get tired of it after 1 week... and tbh doing stunts might be fun, but after a few hours of it it gets old...

I heard wonders of Ratchet, but as I said I'm looking for longevity, a game that will last for some time, does it offer that? I played Jak and Dex isnt it a bit like that game? didnt really loved it... i'ts ok but that's it.

Is that all what ps3 can offer for us atm...? tbh it's not an extensive list... pls More suggestions!!:)

PS: I LOVE RPG's!!

It would appear that you have an incredibly small attention span...

I would suggest DMC 4...but really with your attention span and apparent need for entertainment for more than a weeks time, Why buy a game when you could rent it?

About Folklore... I've been reading a lot about it and I get these mixed reviews, some say it sucks and other say that it's been underrated... and again there's the problem of longevity, does folklore offer me +++hours of gameplay? I know there have been some downloadable contents available on the PSN..but still I don't know... Isn't it a bit limited?

Well to me it seems like your pretty picky considering all the peoples suggestions you turned down. BUT I think I could probably help you a little. You like RGPs: Enchanted Arms is a $20 game brand new and will give you at least 50 hours of gameplay! Fifa 08 is an amazing game. Im not a fan of soccer, but Fifa games are so much fun. Guitar Hero 3 is really an endless game. Chances are you not going to beat throught the fire and flames on expert, but if you shoot for that you'll get plenty of hours out of that. AND you say you already have Warhawk. Thats my favorite game for the PS3. If you get good at it and join a clan you could do some clan battles, which require lots of practice, so that will give you lots of hours of fun. I really hope that helps you, and if you do try some of those out let me know how it goes. My PSN id is TrevCubsOr, right now my PS3 is broke so i wont be able to respond for probably 2 weeks. Soooo good luck!

I have a 40g ps3 so about the ps2 games forget it... pls read the 1st post before actually posting... I have COD4 for pc so that's a no no.

About Unreal 3 well I think it's not a bad idea but still wouldnt I be better off with the pc version? I never really liked playing fps on a console because of the joystick... Is it viable or never the same thing as playing on a pc??

About elder scrolls... I played it on the pc for 100+ hours but never played the new expansion / new contents, you guys think it's worth it to play all over again but this time on the ps3 and with the new expansion, or does the new expansion doesnt really change much in the game?? Another problem about the GOTY edition is that it's out of stock everywhere!! I tried on amazon.UK and it's always out of stock, what's up with that???

I have Guitar Hero and I've played Rock Band a few times. Personally I think Guitar Hero is better AND its cheaper. Although Rock Band has more songs, and you can download more on the store than you can for Guitar Hero. Rock Band is the total package with guitar, drums, bass, and singing. BUT the guitar gameplay on Guitar Hero is much better than Rock Band. The drums are fun, but they are pretty darn hard. The singing to me is kinda lame! You dont even have to sing, you can just hum. For bass you need to buy another guitar. So Rock Band is about double the price and I think Guitar Hero is better. BUT if you looking for a game that you wanna play with alot of friends Rock Band might be more for you because it has 4 players and Guitar Hero only has 2. Hope that helps!

Burnout Paradise! That game is real long...plus there is online play. If you love fragfesting and extremely fast gameplay, get UT III. I personally recommend getting Folklore. I liked the demo, the only turnoff was the 'anime' like random scenes, other than that the gameplay actually WORKS! It's also pretty interactive with the Sixaxis controller. Resistance is a good game too...R & C is very fun but not too long, The Orange Box has 5 games in it...that will last you a long ass time! I played Portal and i have to say it's very unique and original, can't see how anyone wouldn't like Portal inside The Orange Box. check out GRAW 2 or Rainbow Six. They're nice squad tactical shooters, and very fun online play. Don't give up man! There's always a door open! :D Oh and currently my PS3 is broke too...i'll be getting a replacement soon...

nothin against books.....dont get me wrong i love em (david eddings FTW) but this is gaming site he is asking for game! :) and to your question consider resistance it has a pretty decent story line that offers plenty of playing time, plenty if you try to play thru to unlock on the gear you can wear online. And also UT3 is another good choice, the mods will keep you plenty entertained for weeks and with new ones coming out, its a very good choice.....great gameplay also. If your thinking about buying UT3 just go for it its great on PS3 and you can get great mod downloads directly to it from UT3mod.com

Well guys I guess I have alot to consider here, all of you have helped me a lot and i really appreciate that:) Guitar Hero 3 sounds pretty nice, about Rock band well it looks cool but it's damn expensive and i can't find it in my country, i even tought of importing but importation taxes would just make it even more expensive...

About Burnout I don't really know if it's my type of game... I really like GT and i might aswell wait for that.

UT3 looks amazing i might get it for pc since I like to play with mouse / keyboard but the only prob is that my pc kinda sucks so it'll be a decision based wether I prefer in-game graphics or actual gameplay ( not a big fan of fps on a console due to the analog sticks). As forThe Orange box damn it's just GREAT ( i think) I loved hl2 on the pc so The Orange box is a game that I will like for sure, but again the same problem about fps's on consoles not sure if it's worth it for the ps3... maybe should just get it for the pc.

Well Soul about reading a book that's not a bad idea at all:) It's been sometime since I actually read books with wow and now with ps3 it's been hard to read on a daily basis, just been doing it on my vacations... oh btw I've been trying to start reading this book from Colleen McCullough "Masters of Rome : Fortune's favorites" that's actually the 3rd book from the "Masters of Rome" series and we are talking of 800-1300 pages each book:)

THX FOR Everything guys!! Really!!!

New games to consider : Guitar Hero 3 / Rock Band and UT III / Orange Box.

Just wanted to throw in that UT3 has KB/M support for the PS3. Though i would suggest the PC(if it doesnt take away from your playing experience),PS3 is just about as good IMO.

Well i read the review on Enchanted arms here on gamespot and it didn't really convince me to buy it... I like Rpg's but if it's a bad game I might not like it lol. Anyway here where I live it's 70Euros and on amazon.uk is about 60 Euros so i might pass on it.

Now I have a question, which one of these 2 games is better and has +gameplay longevity? "The Orange Box" or "UT3"??

yeah man just throwin it out there. im a big time gamer, i love videogames and i havent read a book in a while. its pretty refreshing and its a good change of pace. also, gettin back on the topic of games, yeah i own UT3 and its really good, but if u dont like multiplayer games then u wont like this. if u do, however, its one of the best multiplayer games imo, and if ur worried about ur computer being good enough to handle the game with good framerate and stuff, u could always hook up a mouse and keyboard to the ps3 and play it. the game plays beautifully on the ps3, pretty much the same as on pc from what ive heard. anyways, good luck dude.

if ur lookin for longevity, id have to say the orange box. even though UT3 is great and u could play it online a long time, even the best online games get a little old after a while. and the orange box has half life 1, half life 2, and half life 2 ep. 1 & 2. and if thats not enough its got another game called portal, which is a really good puzzle game, and...lol on top of that its got an online multiplayer game called team fortress 2, which ive heard is pretty good. and all if this is the same price as UT3. u cant really go wrong w/ either one, but if ur lookin for more bang for ur buck, then id say the orange box.

What? How can you pay 70 Euros for a game? Isn't that around $100USD? Games only cost $60.

Well mate that's portugal lol it sucks, all the retail stores here are scamming us ... I mean it's ridiculous even though the euro is higher than the dollar ( about $1.30=1Euro) all the ps3 games cost 69.99Euros and what's funny is that the PS3 40g (without games) costs 400Euros which is equal to $585... it's sad but true lol

IF you don't believe me just check www.fnac.pt and look for any ps3 game...

That's why I only import games from UK which are 10Euros cheaper and I don't need to pay taxes...
