Getting PS3 AT GAMESTOP, PLEASE RESPOND

The complaints about GameStop stem mainly from the hiring of fanboy employees who have no clue which seems to be very prevalent in the majority of the stores (if going by the posts about it here).

Going by one recent poster about GAME basically saying he's SOL after losing his form soon after preordering despite them having his info in their system I would maybe look elsewhere before going there. HMV is supposed to be the big partner in the launch with Sony and they did recently drop that stupid PSP bundle bit. Haven't heard of the last two choices.

If you are really wanting to have a go with the midnight launch then go ahead and hit that store for a preorder.

As a PS3 owner, I'd tell you to save your money and wait for more games and a price drop. The PS3 does offer the most value out of all the consoles with the built in wi-fi, blu-ray, etc. but it's lacking where it counts the most, the actual games.

Hey I live in Ireland, and the current stores to buy the PS3 is, in the future, HMV, Virgin, Game, Gamestop, and Smyths. These are the largest game retailers in Ireland, now for the Americans, I heard that Gamestop is really really crap for buying the PS3, the other stores are taking deposits, except for Game, which is taking deposits between next monday and wednesday. I have a desposit in Smyths, and two Gamestop stores because they were the only stores taking deposits a month ago, yeah I went a bit mad, now Im taking those deposits and putting it on one, buying my PS3 today in a Gamestop store which is having a Mid-night launch, + one of the game stores said they might too have a mid-night launch, because they did one for the Wii, but aint taking deposits until wednesday and wont allow u to buy the PS3. I really want to do a mid-night launch because I have never done one, ya know just to experience it, . Plus I dont have enough time to go in on between Monday and Wednesday to preorder it. All Im sayn is, is Gamestop really worth it, to do it all 2day? or will I wait for the unknown stores to the Americans and known stores to everyone else to preorder it? Alyxm1

IMO at Game am geting my ps3 from Game

I like Gamestop's extened warranty.  Bring your system in for any reason and they will replace it with a new one (at least here in the US) and you can continually extend your warranty.  No other store I know has a warranty like that.  Stores like Best Buy and Circuit City say they take your system and send it in for repairs.

I don't like GS and could care less if they are fanboys, I will buy hardware there and they will never see me again (unless they have a sweet sale on games) until my warranty is up and I want a brand new system for free.  Just be careful they don't sell a resealed system as a new one.

Are there really no HMVs in the states? Anyways, I'd go with gamestop for the pre-order. Everyone keeps saying the employees love the 360 and shove it down your throat, but i think they were forced to do that to get you to buy one when there were no PS3s in stock. I'll bet anyone that if they went to pick up a PS3 today, there would be no talk of a 360.Cory_t_

i voted smyths, virgin is also good. Dont ever support gamestop unless you need to. Everything they sell is already opened once (probably more). and they tell you lies just to sell stuff. when i first got 360, i got halo 1 and 2. they told me to get the multiplayer map pack. then i told them my friedn gave it to me. When i went online with Halo 2 i found out it was free. Those video game nerds new that, they were just trying to rip me offdownPlayDemon
