getting ps3 soon.is there a point?

PLEASE READ MY POST BEFORE YOU DO.

ok ill soon be getting ps3 40gb, i just wanted to know if theres a point to getting it soon or should i wait;

ive seen on the playstation website that the 40gb isnt backwards compatible but they are working on it with the games companies so i was wondering if i should wait and get one as games will become cheaper and(i dont know about the actual console also.)

They may be releasing a $299 model... but it'll be bare bones.

Just get the 80GB... that will probably NOT go down in price and they may even discontinue it.

BTW: Games will not go down in price.

The 40 GB PS3 has none of the hardware from the PS2 that is required for backwards compatibility. CellAnimation

thats highly debatable. they have better visuals, but the ps2 library trumps the ps3 library by leaps and bounds.

I agree I've got the 60gb and I've only used the BC twice.
