Getting some money for 18th birthday. Should I buy a PlayStation 3?

Hey as the title suggests I'll be getting some money soon for my birthday (yaaaaaaaay) and I was wondering if I should buy a PS 3. I've always sort of wanted a Playstation 3 but I have a 360 and most of the games that are on the PS 3 come out on the 360 as well. I was wondering if you could suggest what games the PS 3 is really worth getting for. Obviously I know of Killzone 2, Uncharted, LBP etc. but I was wondering if you could maybe suggest some hidden gems as well and also games that will be coming to the PS 3 later on.

There are many things that I could spend this money on and as we all know money is worth more than it should these days :( so if I do buy it I really wouldn't like to regret my purchase.

When you ask something like this in the PS3 section everyone is going to say yes. I have a 360 but if you can get both I'd say go for it. 360 or PS3, you can't go wrong with either.

Yes.Get a PS3.I will try to give some reasons why you should get one.I will try to be honest stating some of the good and bad.

First off the bad.

• Since there was no price drop the PS3 is still 400 bucks
• No B/C for the newer consoles.....Bad only if you still want to play PS2 titles and don't have a PS2
• Only 2 USB slots
• The menu interface is good for alot of people but could do better in my opinion.

Now the good.

• A very sexxxy consoles
• Blu-ray
• It is not the best,but has a web browser
• Great exclusives
• Trophies----If your into it,alot of people get turned off because they think the PS3 does not have a good reward system like the 360,it does for alot of games now.
• Game devs are FINALLY starting to use the full power of the PS3
• Great PS store.
• PS3 is not region locked-Which means you can import games from other regions and play them.

PS Store feature.

• Free,yes FREE themes
• Movies and TV shows like the 360
• Demos of course
• Add ons
• PS3 has PSN cards like the 360.....If you can find theme.

Now some great PS3 exclusives

• Metal Gear solid 4
• Resistance
• Resistance 2
• Motorstorm
• Motorstorm 2
• Valkyria Chronicles
• Killzone 2
• Haze-I liked it
• Folklore
• Ninja Gaiden sigma
• D3
• Demon soul-Have to import
• Uncharted
• Heavenly sword

Oh yes White Knight Chronicles. I've seen a few footages of that game and I no a little about it but is it an online game or a single-player RPG? I'm just not clear about that :S It does look promising though. Even though the 360 is called the console for RPGs now (whatever) most if not all of the JRPGs on it are mediocre at best :(

The 360 does have some good RPGs,but so does the PS3 now.White Knight Chronicles is a Singleplayer RPG but I believe it lets you play with friends if you want....But like I said I am not 100% sure about that.

I think amazon is giving you 50 dollars off a ps3 when you trade any four ps2 games in.

Actually Final Fantasy Xiii is coming out on Xbox as well. This actually disappointed me on the grounds that I always considered Final Fantasy a Playstation privilege. :/ And another reason why to get a PS3 > connection to the Playstation online network is free, unlike Xbox live. RXtasy7

I guess cause with a 400 dollar console he wants to be sure.He is on a gaming site so he is asking us who are members of this gaming site.Now I hate those what games should I get threads,but when it comes to a huge purchase like this I would ask around too.This is why I try to tell him that the console is great,but it does have bad things about it.K1LLR3175

But that's my point though. $60 or $400. It's still a bit of money that shouldn't be considered by some stranger that knows nothing about you. It's the same as asking some random guy on the street "should I buy a Subaru? I don't know!" What do you think the guy's going to say to you? LOL

If someone really wanted it, questions about the system would be asked. Not "should I buy it?". It's not much different from "what game should I buy" or "convince me". Why are we requested to think for them?
