The moment GH became Activision's it stopped being cool... the new GH is a lame attempt to compete with RB. And also there's the Konami rip-off, how is it called??

I'm looking at it like this. Even if GHIV has good songs, people that have Rockband already have no need for it especially when RB will have nearly 300 songs by then. There is so much variety it would be like downgrading in the song quantity and quality department. The other thing is the peripherals aren't compatible which hurts GHIV even more. The only people that own Rockband that would buy GHIV is if they were real drummers or people wanting a SLIGHTLY cooler drum experience. The casual RB people will be content with what they already have. GHIV does have an interesting song making gimmick but not being able to put in a vocal track holds it back a lot.

So my take is People interested in music will buy GH and people interested in music bands will buy or stick with RB.

GHIV is a joke! RB is much better, GH1 and 2 were the best.

I'll probably get GH4 for completion's sake, but I'm more looking forward to RB DLC and a possible RB 2.

I love rock band, the songs they get are superior to GH's tracks. I loved gh 1 and 2, but as a previous poster stated, it was all downhill after harmonix left to make rock band. Also, unless they have cash to throw away, there is no way someone with rock band will also buy GH4. $190? that seems to me like activision is charging $30 extra for your peripherals to say "Guitar hero" on them.

Yeah, Konami's "rip-off" is quite the disappointment.

All they had to do was bring together GuitarFreaks and Drummania before the millenium came and they'd have this market secured. But no, instead, they chose to make a "rip-off" of something they came up with and totally trashed their old but solid IPs. Seriously, what the hell is up with that new drum set they're putting in Rock Revolution? The one in Drummania was seriously so much better, but instead, they opt for some flat, low-budget, piece-of-crap.
