It's an amazing free-roaming sandbox game. The controls are smooth and fun to use especially to navigate through the city. Think Assassin's Creed with regards to climbing and moving around, but with electric powers to boot. The combat is fun and there is a huge arsenal of powers/abilities (most of which are upgradeable), as well as plentyof variety in the mission types,so don't worry if you thought this game might be a gimmick - it's definitely not.
I bought it yesterday, played for about 4 hours, and althoughthe story hasn't picked up much yet (I'm only 7-8% done), the storytelling is enjoyable, andI'm sure the plot will get more interesting along the way. The powers are unlocked at a steady pace, so you'll get plenty of use out of each power, andjust when you're about to get bored with a certain power, the game will give you a new one to play with. Plus, you can upgrade them to upgrade your fun.
Also, moral/karmic choices have come up at several points in the game already. Certain powers are only available for "Good" Cole, with others are only available for "Bad" Cole, and some upgrades depend on how bad or good you are. This adds replayability to what is already a very lengthy game because you'll want to do a good play-through and a bad play-through to use all the powers available and the story as well as the citizens change based on your karma. They will attack you if you have bad karma, and praise you if you have good karma.
All in all, after several hours of enthralling gameplay, I can give this game my full recommendation.
