Goat sacrifice for promoting God of war 2

ELECTRONICS giant Sony has sparked a major row over animal cruelty and the ethics of the computer industry by using a freshly slaughtered goat to promote a violent video game.

The corpse of the decapitated animal was the centrepiece of a party to celebrate the launch of the God Of War II game for the company's PlayStation 2 console.

Guests at the event were even invited to reach inside the goat's still-warm carcass to eat offal from its stomach.

Sickening images of the party have appeared in the company's official PlayStation magazine, due out tomorrow, but after being contacted by The Mail on Sunday last night Sony issued an apology and promised to recall the entire print run.

The International Fund for Animal Welfare said it was "outrageous'' that the animal's death had been used "to sell a few computer games''.

 "We condemn Sony's actions,'' a spokesman said. "It is stupid and completely unjustified.''

seriously, this isn't that bad. animals are slaughtered by the millions each year. it doesn't matter if it was freshly slain. you think all those cows at the beef factory get anesthesia before they get killed? no. besides, they were eating the animal, so it wasn't a waste. Animal cruelty? No. More like waste of good goat meat. I mean, they ARE PROMOTING GOD OF WAR 2. If you have played any of the God of War games or know anything about them, you should know what they're like...

It is a tad over the top, but not really. But this has gotten me to thinking what an over the top promotion of a game like Manhunt 2 will be like? Real dead human carcasses???

Did the goat have a name? If it did then that's just wrong.
