I dont think neither have been confirmed...yet. But both are immenent titles. Both franchises are very popular. Theres no way that wont make either one. We just have to wait.
There's no way Sony doesn't do a GoW3 given that GoW2 pulled down 800K+ in its first month. It's even more likely since GoW2 was blatantly left wide open for a sequel. I've never played any of the SOCOM games, but I can't imagine they're not popular enough to get another sequel.

God of War 3 has been confirmed unintentionally by a member of th dev team. The game is definitely in production...whether or not it'll come out is another question if for some reason they decide to cancel it. Currently it's thumbs up for GoW3.

I hope the next Socom appeals to me... I played the first 2 and I didn't particularly enjoy the difficulty of the campaigns. Socom II is the only game on my PS2 I have left to beat... And me being a game perfectionist must start on the hardest mode (That may explain the difficulty?) and get every bonus thing per mission... I think I'm on mission 4 now.

Although Combined Assault is the fourth SOCOM game its not SOCOM 4, because SOCOM 4 is the title for another game of the franchise. Just like GTA. GTA 4 isnt the fourth game in the series (I think its the 6th) but its still called GTA 4

4 real, I was up playing instant action co-op online till 4am and I had to work today, but socom is the best and I don't mind the lack of sleep. Socom 4 may be out for this holiday season, it's listed as tba 2007 on ign
