God of War 3 trailer lackluster???

This game was supposed to blow my mind...what i saw in that trailer did not.ChrisThaBest

It started on PS2 until they realized the end days were coming so decided to step up. Graphics won't get much better, if at all, so here's a prime example of gameplay > graphics. Heck, even the sounds topples the graphics! I don't know who this Jaffe character is or why people were praising his opinions so much, but the same exact thing is going to happen to hyped up products here on out. Only the small and unnoticed titles will prevail, while hype will continue to elude people into thinking GoW III has "some of the best looking cutscenes/ animations/ etc etc"jjtiebuckle

Jaffe said on his blog that what he saw that looked like a painting was not the footage they were going to show at the VGA's - no one knows how old this video is either, I have a feelings it an extremely early build that no where near represents the final product. Don't judge the game on this, as it was only like 7 seconds of actual footage anyways lolspence1988

If im not mistaken Jaffe was head honcho back on GOW 1 and 2

You should know the final game will not look like this. It was just a short trailer meant to tease you.

Remember all the previews of Uncharted 1 and MGS 4? How everyone said the graphics were not much to talk about? Boom the final game hits and people are impressed with how the graphics looked right?

Another example is Killzone 2. Look how many changes it has been through.

So I say wait for magazines to talk about the game and show in-game shots and wait for internet sites to discuss it even more as well as show better progression of gameplay videos.

Wow you seem to know everything about GoW III eh? How'd you play it this early? I can't seem to find it at my local Wal-Mart or EB games. Do you even know what you're saying? There's so many fails in this post I'm just going to :lol:

As for everyone else this is probably an early build and it was like a 10 second thing don't complain. Jaffe said what he saw wasn't going to be shown at the VGA's and people will be disappointed with it. Which you are so I'm sure the games improved.

Anyone remember those KZ2 pics that got leaked before they showed it at E3? Everyone was going on about how the pic looked like crap and the graphics sucked and people were speculating that it's a poster that will pan out at the beginning of the trailer and everyone was wrong it was in-game! But did the graphics look crap? No it was an early build and they were panned into the bad textures, now look at the game a year later it looks phenominal so reserve judgement until the Game is close to release im sure this is an old build. STOP WHINING! I feel sad about PS3 owners sometimes always assume things.

how do you know that is the final product? sheesh you kids are sooo picky about graphics nowadays.

This game is still in development, no game is going to look great starting out.

Yeah, but the gameplay looks like the best in the series, the walking on the walls was sooooooo kick ass.Tlahui

I don't think thats gameplay, that might be there engine (*cough* from the ps2 *cough*) but that was one of their cinematic things they do. If it is actual gameplay i'll be pleasantly surprised.
