alright now this is my favourite game series ever and i'm actually a lil worried about it....

first off the main guy at the helm of the previous games is not even working on it (from what i've read before on here..)....

and the way the second game finished...while being awesome....seriously (i feel) limits the actual levels to be played leading up to boss fights etc...(which will obviously be EPIC!)

now i know that the game developers in general are extremely smart people, but how the hell are they going to make levels from the way GoW2 finished!?!!?

most probably some sort of twist and turn in the story we don't see coming...but this is my most anticipated game for the ps3 and god damn i hope it rocks!

what are your guys thoughts? and what sort of lil twistsdo you think they'll toss our way to get the new story started?

Well the guy who did the first. Did not do 2. Yet it was fine. The guy who did 2 did not do the PSP one. And that one was amazing. And the guy who did 2. Now has a more major PS3 project hes working on. Now that hes done with making little arcade games for a while, and had his break.

well the second game was alot better than fine...and they did take a seeming end to the story and made it great....but that one was a little easier to work with.

but i am just trying to think of what amazingly large locations and what awesome end to the great story we will see....

i mean.... **possible spoiler to some** i don't really wanna be playing in the freakon clouds for half the game....the city levels etc ...and the super large scope of everything took the first games to another level for me...

the actual end of the story seems kinda obvious...(but who knows what they'll pull out...) but the journey they take from what the end of the second game gives us seems a lil hard to work with....

Yea I understand that. Because its as if your right before that end point now "at the end of 2." I dont know? Im sure they will think of something. Im thinking they will expand how you get to that fight. And their will be city's and travels, to get powers and whatever is needed. But that was kinda the point of 2. But I would say you could do somthing like. Have him maybe loose off the start. And have to find something else "Or whatever powers." and return to win. Or something like that.

the bolded bit sounds like a decent start and incredibly similar to the first with ....**possible spoiler** pandoras box

but yeh....now you see my worry....the last cutscene actually had you 90% of the way to your destination....

how the hell they gonna expand that out without it sucking major ballage........

usually i don't worry but there's never been a more anticipated game for me.

The guy that did the first worked as an external consultant in the second. Maybe they will do the same on the third.

And about the twist, I am sure they will think about something. **SPOILERS** Maybe you are thrown out of Gea's back and have to climb Mount Olympus by foot. Maybe you are killed again and visit Hades one more time (different section, maybe the Avernus, the Elysian Fields or the Styx... **SPOILERS**

Worry not man, the creator still participates as an advisor, as he did in the second one, and I think Balrog will participate in the third too as an advisor. But its also most likely that the whole plot was already done

Cool. Dont' have a PSP, so I haven't played it. But you get the idea. There are tons of places and characters in greek mythology that haven't being touched in GOW, so I would expect the game to be at least as long and varied as the 2nd one.

I wouldn't be worried about God of War 3. The second game turned out fantastic even thought they didn't had the original crew. The same for PSP version, it was a great game.

There are many talented people at SCE Studios Santa Monica and you can rest assured they will be do a great job.

Since seeing GOW's 2 ending, I've always assumed that in part 3 you'd

*Spoiler*

Start playing on Gai's back and work your way up to Mount Olympus but then something happens that makes you lose your powers and then you fight all the gods one one.

Well, it seems most of the battles will take place on Olympus. Also, maybe you'll have to fight Poseidon in his own water realm (perhaps with help from Oceanus?), and Hades in the Underworld.

I expect a big twist with the Titans. Remember Athena said the Titans were not to be trusted? And there was that story of Kratos' brother who was raised in Hades with thoughts of vengeance. Then there's that picture on the first game depicting Zeus fighting a couple of Spartans. Could those be Kratos and his brother?

Really, there's no reason to think this game will be a disappointment. I'm sure they've planned great things for the epic finale of the series.

I wouldn't worry about GOD OF WAR. The first two were hits. The third will be even better. Your just worry to much. But who

knows, maybe it could be horrible. But you have a better chance of winning te lottery than seeing GOD OF WAR gameplay look

Currently my most anticipated game for the PS3. If they've been working on this for the last year or so, it's going to be awesome. I can only imagine how well done the graphics are going to be. This should even blow Devil May Cry 4 out of the water.

Are you kidding? KRATOS will be fighting the GODS alongside the TITANS atop OLYMPUS.

That's only the most epic thing I can possibly imagine. If that's how the game starts, I can only dream of how it might end.

For those who think the end is obvious, I'd say that's what they want you to think. After playing GoW 1, 2 and COO the plot twists are plentiful.

That's what I like about the games so much, everyones' morality and what side they are on is ambiguous at best. Which is a lot like real mythology.

**SPOILERS BELOW**

Personally I think the beginning of the game where GOW2 left off will be the battle of the titans/gods 2.0 with Kratos' mission to kill the gods being very clear cut at the beginning but like others have said the Titans aren't to be trusted. I'm thinking there might have been more to the way Gaia raised Zues than just taking care of him like she said. Kratos being an Olympian himself leaves him open to being mistrusted if the Titans do regain power and given his history of fighting his own kind and inslaving Atlas etc... doesn't help him if he wants to maintain a good relationship with either side in power.

Personally I'm hoping to see the return of Athena at some point in some fashion. I think both the titans and gods will be portrayed in a better light in some respects and as manipulating cons. So far the Titans and Gods have given Kratos reasonable excuses for joining each respective cause. But I think they'll be tugging him in both directions at the same time in the 3rd installment. Leaving Kratos to decide what he does based on what he wills, which would finally break the stalemate between the two sets of powers and involve the salvation of his wife and daughter.

well im not sure about the city thing, because doesnt kratos have the power to time travel? so why wont he just go where the gods are, instead of going through all the cities, im pretty sure he'll be stripped off his powers somehow again, and u have to gain new powers

It works as a prequel, so you can live without it. But the story in it is tight, and it gives you some extra information as why X thing happened-.

David Jaffe wasn't the head of development for GoW2, and look how it turned out. i hope they do a really good job on GoW3, and i gotta agree, making levels by how GoW2 ended is going to be difficult

if they go with this, i will be disappointed. the way his brother looked was like male version of Alma from Ninja Gaiden and did not go with the greek look of the GoW games

You would think he would wan't to have some hand, in what will propably be the definitve game of the series. The 1st god of war was a great game, also very good looking game. I can not wait to see it with the power of the PS3 behind it.

But I would say you could do somthing like. Have him maybe loose off the start. And have to find something else "Or whatever powers." and return to win. Or something like that.

well im not sure about the city thing, because doesnt kratos have the power to time travel? so why wont he just go where the gods are, instead of going through all the cities, im pretty sure he'll be stripped off his powers somehow again, and u have to gain new powers

omfg how the hell did i forget he has the power to time travel now......hopefully they can think of some crazy ways to incorporate this power into the gameplay....

[QUOTE="JoKeR_421"][QUOTE="truenextgen"][QUOTE="caMo723"] well the second game was alot better than fine...and they did take a seeming end to the story and made it great....but that one was a little easier to work with.

but i am just trying to think of what amazingly large locations and what awesome end to the great story we will see....

i mean.... **possible spoiler to some** i don't really wanna be playing in the freakon clouds for half the game....the city levels etc ...and the super large scope of everything took the first games to another level for me...

the actual end of the story seems kinda obvious...(but who knows what they'll pull out...) but the journey they take from what the end of the second game gives us seems a lil hard to work with....caMo723

He doesn't have the power to travel through time by himself. He needs to use the string of the sisters of fate to time travel.

Actually, I think about what Strangelove said and it makes a lot of sense. Maybe the invasion of Mount Olympus is only the first half. After you kill the gods, you are betrayed by the Titans, stripped of your powers and have to fight them too... That would be a long game, and beyond epic.

Also, I remembered what Jaffe and Balrog said about GOW3 explaining "why there are no more greeks gods anymore". That should also relax the TC about a storyline, since it means this was planned since the begining.

Go to the GOW3 page at gamespot and look if they have a guide. If they dont, then go to where it says hints and cheats, and click that. And from there scroll down until you see FAQs.

Wow, this guy got it exactly right (thread is over 2 years old).
