God of War Collection? How about a METAL GEAR SOLID COLLECTION??

So yeah um, just got a PS3 and first two games I plan on buying is Modern Warfare 2 and GOW collection, cos you know, I've never played a God of War game. Next game I want to get is MGS4 but similarly I've never played a Metal Gear Solid game before so it got me thinking, they should release a MGS collection with all four games on the PS3 with the first three having updated graphics. What say you PS3 board, what say you? Would this be win?

I have the games, but yes, that would be quite win, albeit highly unlikely.

id be up for this but they wouldnt be able to fit all 4 games on one disc, so i'd say put the first 3 on one single layer blu-ray disc i would love being able to play them again since my ps2 broke :(

The MGS Essential Collection is part of why I was in such a hurry to get a PS3 before they removed backwards compatibility. I've never actually played any Metal Gear game, and I feel like it's one of the few huge franchises I missed out on. But then I heard about issues with the backwards compatibility for the MGS collection specifically, because you need rumble at some point and the ability to switch controllers. This was back when I only owned 1 PS3 controller and before the Dualshock 3 was released. I suppose now that all of that is fixed I could go back and try it out, but I just never get around to it.

Of course it would be win, but people seem to keep forgetting when they make these kinds of topics, God of War is a Sony IP. They can do whatever they want with it. Same for ICO and SOTC if they choose to make a Collection. MGS, DMC, and FF? Not so much.

While there is no graphical upgrade, they already have this on PS2. I don't think they will do that honestly.

Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 together with trophies, widescreen and 1080p would be amazing. As for the first one, meh... Just get it on PSN, Twin Snakes would be cool though but I highly highly doubt it.

What, Konami, Capcom and Square Enix can't put out HD collections?

Anyway, they can make it, but I won't buy it. Had the originals, then upgraded to the Essential Collection. I'm not getting them again.

Why naive? Nothing is stopping them. Infact as soon as the GoW collection was announced, several other publishers said they would be interested in doing their own.

They already have a MGS collection for PS2. My fav game series is MGS and i would love to see an MGS collection for PS3, doubt it will happen though.

maybe. they did make the metal gear solid essential collection for ps2. idk bout ps3. luckily i still hav the ps1/2 compatible ps3 :D

Other publishers publishing their own collections has nothing to do with the fact that there's a God of War collection which is what most of these threads are implying. Sure the idea of possibly making one may have come from that, but the fact that there is a GoW collection out isn't going to make other publishers make collections. They're going to put them out if they want to, regardless of whether there is a GoW collection or not. Maybe I'm just ranting though because 99% of these topics are asking Sony themselves (and not the companies who published the original games) to actually put these collections out, when again, they don't have the rights.Texas2089

It has everything to do with the GoW Collection though, don't you see! Now that Sony has shown you can make money from it, it's only a matter of time before others follow suit. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than making a new game. Now that the idea is out there, it's only a matter of time.

Absolutely. I've only ever finished the first one. Played the second a little and the third, not at all. I'd love to play through them on my PS3.

I was just talking about the games on the PS2 as a collection and to that guy above that said thre's already a DMC collection and an MGS one I think the point we're getting at here is having the for the PS3 not the PS2, some of us may not have a working PS2.

A MGS collection would be awesome but only with 2 and 3. No. 1's already on the PS3 and how do you make a game like that lookany better with increased frame rate and hig def graphics?

Remakes for 2 and 3 would be kick ass. If they made the controls like mgs4 I would buy it day 1.
