Arghh, I am at the Jail of Tartarus, heading to Hyperion, I think. The problem is, I have settled everything in Jail of Tartarus, and have pushed all the cranks to reveal two platforms which I have to jump over to get into a cave, I think. The thing is, I can't seem to be able to jump from the first platform to the second platform. So how?
IF i'm thinking of the correct place in the game, you may not have broken some of the columns in the hallways of the jails, etc. There are a couple of platforms to jump on. One is higher than the other. The upper one came down first when I played (by breaking some columns) and then I had to go back and break some more columns to get the other platform to come down.
But again, this may not be the exact place you're referring to, so please forgive me if i'm wrong.
Yeah, I have turned all the cranks to lower the two platforms down. It so happens that even after rotating these platforms down, one is still higher than the other. The sequence goes like this:
1. From the ground, double jump to the first lower platform.
2. From the lower platform, double jump to the higher platform (this is the problem, I just cannot manage the double jump without falling all the way down).
"I've been getting a lot of questions for this part, jumping the platforms. Why it wasn't in the guide in the first place is because for my many times playing the game I never had this problem, I always made it to the second platform on my first jump. After trying it some times I see why people don't make the jump. Don't run right to the edge of the first platform then jump because this will make Kratos momentarily pause and make your jump too short. So what you do is run and just before you reach the edge (don't touch it) jump and while in the air jump again (doing a double jump) and you should grab onto the platform. I always did this and I always made it."
Since everyone I know has been looking for an answer to this seemingly insurmountable problem, I thought I would share what I have discovered though it may be a bit late. Anyway, I had the same problem and searched everywhere for the answer till I found this:
"You need to leave a pause/space in between your jumps. X....X"
Where I always fall to my death when I tap the X key too quickly, I tried the trick above and wait a nanosec or slightly more before hitting the X key again and it worked!! Just hit the X a second time as Kratos is about to end his first jump.
