Godly Character headed for SoulCaliber IV? *Must Read* *Straight from EGM Mag*

"At this point, no Soulcalibur IV character reveal should really surprise anyone. But while you shouldn't be shocked by the rest of the secret characters waiting in the wings, you should be stoked for the one I just heard about. A mighty mole revealed to me that the star of a certain godly action game for the PS2 will be joining the ranks of the Soulcalibur crew. Guess we'll find out soon enough."

They'd better get those large installations ironed down first, eventhough the producer just said it is largely exaggarated.

Kratos would work more then any of the other new guest characters, technically lightsabres should cut through everyone's weapons quite cleanly.

Dudes, Star Wars in Soul Calibur is awesome; you can use the mutha F****** force. I am really hoping Kratos is in it and I kinda expect him to be, because I don't know why all the hype would be out there and if it turns out false I guarantee some people won't buy the game because it lost its appeal. I don't think anyone would go to the point of not buying a game with the lack of a character, though back in Soul Calibur 2 times, the Gamecube version did sell off the appeal of Link, so if they throw in Kratos and put him on the cover, they could sell it quite well.

If PS3 gets Kratos I hope Bandai Namco don't do a similar thing for the 360 version

Master Chief in SC4? How would they sort out the balancing issues of grenades and rifles vs swords?

Not happening. The only System specific characters would be Yoda and Vader. I wish they had Kratos for PS3, and Ryu (Ninja Gaiden) for 360. I wouldn't mind that.

I am not interested in SC4 but if Kratos is indeed confirmed for the PS3 version than I'll deffinitely change my mind.

im intrested in soul calibur 4 for sure and kratos would be a very nice addition.

however it seems unlikely since I doubt sony would want kratos's first next gen appearence to be on a game they did not have a part in devolping

While i wouldn't mind playing as Kratos, i think it's sad that the Soul Calibur series has reduced itself to gimmick characters to get more of an appeal. It seems Soul Calibur 4's main pull is bonus characters that have nothing to do with the series. Darth Vader and Yoda are bad enough, but Jedi Apprentice? A character from a game that hasn't even been released yet? That seems a bit desperate. While i admit i wouldn't mind kicking ass with Vader or Kratos, i just don't like how the majority of the attention given to the game is based on these gimmicky characters, and not just the game itself. That being said, i'm sure Namco will make a lot of money, and attract a lot of newcomers with these new additions.

I would rather much prefer someone iconic. Ryu isnt at that level or ever will be.
