Going to buy a used PS3

Well my friend is selling his 250gb PS3 with a extra wireless contoller. And I am considering of buying it. I am just wondering if i will run into any problems like when connecting to the internet. Or when i make a new profile and whatnot. Also will the warrenty still be in affect for me. He bought it like 9 months ago. And is there a way for me to clear all the data on the ps3 so it will be new and clean.

I am thinking of offering to buy it from him for about $200-$225 do you think this is a fair price higher lower what do you think?

just delete his user completely and then go to settings and go to system settings, and click on the restoring the system to factory default and reset the settings and what not.....that way all u need to do is create YOUR name( PSN ID) then ur all setJoKeR_421

If he has PSN games, you might reconsider before reformatting the HDD. You can still take advantage of those games he bought.

Just make a new PSN account and delete his user, that's all.

My PS3 keeps overheating. It just stops itself and makes some weird beeping noise and flashes red. Any idea how I can fix this?
