i want something that will keep me entertained. i was looking at Assassins Creed, but everyone seems to be bashing its repetition. is that them being lazy, or what? is it because it was overhyped. and Call Of Duty 4 looks really good, i dont know. i think i may go with Oblivion, but i need something to keep me entertained till the end of the month when i get more money for some more games. so i want some awesome, time consuming games. maybe a little online multiplayer. that always keeps me hooked. =]

I really think Assassin's Creed is a game people either like or hate. There's a lot to do but a lot of people say it's just doing the same thing over and over. Part of it is honestly but I can't think of any game that doesn't really have that. It's a great game and if you wanted to pick it up it would be a good idea to get it this Saturday since it's around $40 in most stores I think.

There's Uncharted which has a lot of replay value and a great story. It's a very polished game with likeable characters. I played it on easy with little exploration and got about 10 hours or so out of it. But I do plan on going back to it.

I played through Ratchet about three times. The weapons are a lot of fun to use and it's a great game overall. There's a lot of great parts in the storiy a long with some great moments in battles. It has a lot of great mechanics.

There's also the Orange Box. I've only played through Portal and Team Fortress 2 so I can't say much about the load times in any of the Half Life games but Team Fortress 2 is a blast to play. The characters you can choose in it all feel very unique. The maps are a fun and there's always people on playing. This was the first shooter I ever really played but it's surprisingly easy to play and the design of the characters and environments are really great. Since it's a multiplayer game you could spend a bunch of time playing Team Fortress 2. I've already spent about 30 hours on that and I didn't even finish Portal yet.

I can't really say which games to recommend just because of how long they are. I don't think that long games are really always the best or most memorable but those four games above are a lot of fun. You just have to play them with that in mind and enjoy the experience.

The two you mentioned, Oblivion and Call of Duty 4, are the only one's I don't own but I really do want to get them. If money is an issue you should go for Oblivion. It's only 30 dollars for the regular edition of the game and the game itself is pretty long. Some people say the sidequests are what make up most of the longevity but since I haven't played it I wouldn't know what to say. Call of Duty 4's story is 5-6 hours from what I've read but I've also read that it's very action packed. Plus there's online multiplayer.

There's really a bunch of fun games out on the system, but I'd recommend:
-Uncharted
-Oblivion
-Call of Duty 4

Look into some of the downloadable PS3 games. They don't cost much but most of them are surprisingly addictive. You should look into buying Everyday Shooter, Super Stardust HD, and PixelJunk Monsters. Those three games are all easy to play but difficult to master. Most importantly they're a lot of fun.

Call of Duty 4 has great multiplayer and a good single player but I would recommend Burnout Paradise it's the most fun I've had on my PS3 so far.

Assassin's Creed is a good game, my main problem with the game was the ending though (I won't spoil it), it just left me feeling like it wasn't finished I kept looking around to see if I had missed something. I suppose that the ending left room for the sequels apparently coming.

If you want to stay entertained for a long time, by all means Oblivion is the game to go with. Theres a reason why it won almost every game of the year award.

Assassin's Creed is fun but it just seems to lack polish sometimes. If you want to replay a part of the game you have to listen through the mission given to you for like 5-7 minutes and it's unskipable. Some of what it does feels like a welcome change. The fighting for the most part is based on countering but once you get the 'rythm' down it's a lot of fun to kill the enemy gaurds. The cities are huge and have people in every single corner of it. There's women that beg for food that will follow you, drunks that will pick fights with you, gaurds that are always watching your every move. I look at this game and I could quickly see what could have been with it. So really the only thing it needed was polish. Just a little here and there would have done wonders for it.

I dont know what you NEED first, depends what genre you're looking for...but......Choose from any of these top PS3 games in my opinion....

  • Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
  • Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
  • Call of Duty 4
  • Warhawk
  • Devil May Cry 4
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
  • MotorStorm
  • Resistance: Fall of Man
  • Ninja Gaiden Sigma
  • Heavenly Sword
  • MLB 08: The Show
  • Burnout Paradise

Thats probably the top 12 PS3 games right now

CoD4 will give you hours of entertainment, just go buy a mic for like $20 if you dont have one because communication is key in the game.

Rainbow Six Vegas is $40 brand new and has competitive online multiplayer, but same as above get a mic. Keep in mind the second one is comming out in a month.

Oblivion GOTY edition will have you hooked, I have allready put over 100 hours into oblivion and the expansion pack.

Resistance: Fall of Man has a lengthy single player mode with lots of unlockables and a vary competitve online mode

I like jumping into hay. That made the game for me.
