What are some good mics/headsets for the ps3?

This is the official one and I have it. It's light and very comfortable. However, SONY is releasing a new one in a few months. If you see this one at a good price, buy it.

I have a Turtle Beach headset for my Xbox that is great, but it only works for Xbox, and the only game I have on that is my Rock Band - everything else I've switched to PS3 - I have the official blu-tooth headset - I hate it - looking at a set of Tritons at Gamestop that is universal - works on Xbox, PS3 & PC.
i hear sonys releasing a new official headset soon the original works great though ii think any old bluetooth is syncable with ps3 thoughKid_Notorious07I saw the new at Walmart today. Pretty much the same, just looks smaller. I'm also looking for a good gaming headset... not bluetooth though.
I'm thinking of getting this mad catz headset. It's originally $39.99 but next friday it'll be 19.99 http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=65208#media and later on when i get more money i'll go for a turtle beach. RedxSniperWhat do you guys think ?
If you play for 12 hours at a time or have glasses id suggest against the official headset, that thing is murder on my ear.
Your suggestions are way to high, my price range is like 50$ max.. You sure that http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=65208#media this isn't good enough to keep me for a couple months until i can buy a triton/turtle beach? I mean it's 19.99 on sale friday.. RedxSniperOh sorry LOL,yea thats a great offer till you can buy better but I hear trittons break easy. I see nothing wrong with using a madcatz for a while, it does the job.

[QUOTE="JasonDarksavior"]The rubber around the ear piece is fragile though. >_> Well then how about my 2 suggestions above your post ?

Okay, the Logitech headset you asked about is fine. A couple my friends have it, and they like it just fine. I've heard very mixed reviews for both the Turtle Beach sets and the Tritton sets. So, I can't really recommend either. You may want to look into how they hook up with your PS3... some headsets won't allow you to use HDMI and the headset simultaneously. The Turtle Beach PX21's will though. I don't know about the Tritton sets. I'm not sure what your set-up is, but if you have surround sound you may want to find a decent set. Most stereo headsets (above the $50 range) can immitate the surround nicely. So, if this is the case... you should save some money and get something like the Trittons or Turtle Beach sets. I say this because if you have only one ear covered (like the Logitech set) you'll be missing most of the sounds from whatever side the earpiece is on.http://www.amazon.com/Tritton-TRIAX-180-Universal-Headset-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B002P77432/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Is that good ? or this?http://www.amazon.com/Force-PX21-Gaming-Headset-Playstation-Pc/dp/B002BU0DPE/ref=sr_1_6?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1290415696&sr=1-6

In order to clearly hear footsteps in COD, do you have to get a headsetfor the footsteps to benoticeable or will a bluetooth do the job? I'm guessing the headset would be better since it covers both ears and you'd be able to hear which direction they might be coming. Never used a mic or headset so I have no idea

A high quality head set like the Astros or higher end Trittons (maybe the Turtle Beach set too) should allow you to hear them. Or, you could invest in a surround system. If you have a surround sound system and a good stereo headset, the headset will sound like surround sound. My Sennheiser's do this very well.In order to clearly hear footsteps in COD, do you have to get a headsetfor the footsteps to benoticeable or will a bluetooth do the job?
