A USB headset will offer the most quality, but a blue tooth headset will offer the most mobility.

This is the official one and I have it. It's light and very comfortable. However, SONY is releasing a new one in a few months. If you see this one at a good price, buy it.

I have a Turtle Beach headset for my Xbox that is great, but it only works for Xbox, and the only game I have on that is my Rock Band - everything else I've switched to PS3 - I have the official blu-tooth headset - I hate it - looking at a set of Tritons at Gamestop that is universal - works on Xbox, PS3 & PC.

I saw the new at Walmart today. Pretty much the same, just looks smaller. I'm also looking for a good gaming headset... not bluetooth though.

DO NOT Get the following: Anything by MadCatz, Turtle Beach for PS3, Sony Official bluetooth, any type of cellphone bluetooth. You want something of good quality or the best bang for your buck. Get a USB mic if you are only looking for communication or any Tritton gaming headphone.

Oh sorry LOL,yea thats a great offer till you can buy better but I hear trittons break easy. I see nothing wrong with using a madcatz for a while, it does the job.

The rubber around the ear piece is fragile though. >_>

TRITTONS all the way. great voice quality, and none of that crappy feedback that most bluetooths have. when i play online i mute everyone, except my friends. they all have trittons and it sounds good. everyone else either has a crappy bluetooth, or they have it set up wrong. i hate hearing background noise.

Okay, the Logitech headset you asked about is fine. A couple my friends have it, and they like it just fine. I've heard very mixed reviews for both the Turtle Beach sets and the Tritton sets. So, I can't really recommend either. You may want to look into how they hook up with your PS3... some headsets won't allow you to use HDMI and the headset simultaneously. The Turtle Beach PX21's will though. I don't know about the Tritton sets. I'm not sure what your set-up is, but if you have surround sound you may want to find a decent set. Most stereo headsets (above the $50 range) can immitate the surround nicely. So, if this is the case... you should save some money and get something like the Trittons or Turtle Beach sets. I say this because if you have only one ear covered (like the Logitech set) you'll be missing most of the sounds from whatever side the earpiece is on.

Actually i have a better question. Should i get the "Gamestop accessory bundle" since it's 29.99 and it comes w/ a hdmi cable ( won't need ) , ps3 controller ( can come in handy for split multi on black ops ) and USB headset. http://i56.tinypic.com/xcsqrm.jpg

In order to clearly hear footsteps in COD, do you have to get a headsetfor the footsteps to benoticeable or will a bluetooth do the job? I'm guessing the headset would be better since it covers both ears and you'd be able to hear which direction they might be coming. Never used a mic or headset so I have no idea

A high quality head set like the Astros or higher end Trittons (maybe the Turtle Beach set too) should allow you to hear them. Or, you could invest in a surround system. If you have a surround sound system and a good stereo headset, the headset will sound like surround sound. My Sennheiser's do this very well.

i tried out the TB headset, and the sound quality isnt that great. in COD mw2, the grenades really sound like crap. the trittons & astros are much better, but also cost more. i have a friend that has the lower end tritton model, i think its the tritton 180 or 720 i forget which, but it sounded much better than the TB.

The Turtle Beach allow you to hear footsteps but you cannot distinguish the exact location where it comes from. The Tritton 720s and Astros allow you to pinpoint footsteps and basically any type of sound, but the AXPro literally lets you know EXACTLY where said sound is coming from without trying to listen carefully.

Has your friend had any problems with his/her Tritton's? I find very mixed reviews for them saying they sound great but break easy, or begin to malfunction in short ammount of time.
