I'm not surprised then. Only the launch models seems to be getting YLOD lately. I have never really heard anything about 40GB/80GB/160GB models breaking down.[QUOTE="JackalJnr23"]60GB Launch Version.Amster_G
Well to shoot this rumor down i bought my ps3 in 2006 it was the 60 GB version and to this day i have yet to have a serious problem with mine...i've said this in previous posts but it could be that i don't have my ps3 on 24/7 like most of you hardcore gamers..but i have been thinking of buying a new slim version of the ps3 as a backup just incase my old ps3 decides to bite the dust
Well to shoot this rumor down i bought my ps3 in 2006 it was the 60 GB version and to this day i have yet to have a serious problem with mine...Bloody_DemonsOh yeah, not every single launch system has gotten it. And yeah, it all depends on how you use it.
I wish I could paint my PS3 yellow. Then it would be the Yellow PS3 of death! Get it? Haha :PFuri-KunPuleeze...
You can access power briefly, the green light shows, but almost immediately switches to yellow, not allowing sufficient time to eject the Bluray Disc.As you turn on the PS3, doesn't it run for just a few seconds before the YLOD comes up? Can you press the eject button very quickly at all?

I wish I could paint my PS3 yellow. Then it would be the Yellow PS3 of death! Get it? Haha :PFuri-KunPuleeze... amster g i heard of the 40 and 80Gb ps3 gettin YLOD just like the 60GB. i know enough ppl, includin myself and my gf who have the 60gb since 2006 launch and yet to experience anythin bad or gettin the ylod, i mean i cant say nothin bad, cuz once in a blue moon i do get a freeze here and there so does my friends 60gb....but by no means that the 60gb is the only target here, i evens seen the slim gettin YLOD on youtube. so wat i think its all ps3s are capable of gettin this infamous YLOD thing, its a software or hardware issue w.e it is
T.C if u tryin to get the disk out ur $h1t out of luck bro, need to send it to sony. or try wat my friend did on his 40gb when he got the ylod, he used a pair of tweezers to pull it out, though i dont reccomend it but he was pretty good with it and got it safetly out with no scratches or damage the ps3 slot in anyway. but ur best bet is to call sony asap, have them send u a coffin and wait week or less to get ur new adopted ps3. and ur saved data, for ur future needs, back up ur saved data ONCE A WEEK, i do it and just incase u never know.....good luck hope u get ur ps3 fixed bro

To really shoot this rumor down someone with a different SKU has to say they got YLOD, and it's probably happened but every time i open one of these threads it's a launch PS3. My launch PS3 had a disk read error last year and has been sitting idle for a month since it got YLOD. I've been playing on PC but damn I hate it when I want to run somewhere and i click on water or a rock and then I'm dead. So much nicer when you just push the thumbstick where you want to go. Aiming is easier with mouse though. Please Log In to post.
