The PSP, DS and PC are the best choices for RPG fans this gen (PC is always a top tier every gen). The PSP has an awesome library of SRPGs
PSP and DS both have a huge collection of JRPGs and many of them are excellent games. PC has a lot of WRPGs especially the older classics.
The PSP is a haven for the Final Fantasy titles all the way through IX. I don't think III is on it, but the other eight are.psx_warriorthe psp has all the final fantasies and if u hav a psn account you are sorted, only final fantasy 3 is on gameboy

Firstly, I'd recommend keeping your PS2 as it is one of the best consoles ever released.
That said, both the PSP and DS have quite a few great RPGs, I recommend researching the library of each and determining which games best suit your specific RPG interests. (Also keep in mind, you have access to the PSN network via PSP)
