Both Batman games are good though Arkham City is pretty huge as it's more opened world than Arkham Asylum. Bioshock Infinite comes with Bioshock 1, if it says so on the case. Infamous 1/2 are good as well if you like super hero games. pillarrocksdo games like infamous required part one to be played to understand the story? also if you had to choose between infamous 1 or 2, which would you say is the better game? is it easy to get lost in arkham city? is the map easy to use and can you set up waypoints to get to the next objective? thanks

It's good to play Infamous 1 if you care about the story. You could easily get both Infamous game and Festival of Blood(PSN game) for $40. Arkham City, yes you can set way points and the map is easy to use and understand. thanks

You'll be kind of lost on the story otherwise, although the second one sort of explains the first one in a nutshell. I think Infamous 2 is improved is some ways, but not quite as good in others, so for me, they're both equally great. As for Batman, it's pretty easy to get to and travel around. You can set waypoints. As for other games, I'd toss in Far Cry 3, Just Cause 2, and Sleeping Dogs, just because they're all great single player games I've played somewhat recently.

I was thinking about just cause2, but I wasn't sure what the game was about. I'd hate to make you choose, but what would you rather play, farcry3 or just cause 2? also the weird thing is, I can't stand GTA games, but I loved RDR. Is sleeping dogs basically GTA in an Asian setting? edit: I think it comes down to Farcry3, just cause2, or one of the batman games. I have to check my psn account, because if I remember correctly I think sony gave me infamous1 for free awhile back, but at the time I was pretty much only playing online shooters on my 360. I know this is kinda off topic, but are there any other games out there like TLOU? That game really made me feel emotions that only happen to me in certain movies, I really cared for the ellie character and would of done ANYTHING to save her.
Both Batman games are great. Â I liked the first one better. Â I just finished The Last of Us, also. Â I loved Devil May Cry - that's if you don't mind learning some combos. Â I'm not a "hardcore" gamer either, but had no problem finishing it. Â The new Tomb Raider is a lot of fun - if you like exploring. Â (I enjoy exploring the enviornment) Â You can pick up Max Payne 3 really cheap now. Â That was fun - has a lot of story, and it's actually a decent story. Â I, generally, don't care too much for storyline. Â It's a straight-up shooter. Â Could have used more weapons, in my opinion (like, throwing grenades or something as in LoU) but, fun to play anyway.
Batman Arkham City is an absolute must. It's quantity and quality at an extremely high scale. It improves on the first game in every single aspect quite vastly. I can easily recomend that game to anybody whole heartedly.
Other really good single player games you might want to check out are
-Rayman Origins
-inFAMOUS 1 and 2
-Darksiders 1
something fresh and special : heavy rain
hack and slash with best video game character ever ;) : god of war 3
open world : infamous 1&2
if you like the last of us : same devs made the uncharted seriese wich you should not miss
FPS : killzone
racing : gran turismo 5 ( i recommend waiting for part 6 )
To name a few personal fav sp games (sorry if I list ones you've already played)
what is your personal opinion for TLOU? did it make you emotional at all? I really really enjoyed the story, and im looking for something similar. Both Batman games are great. I think after farcry3 I will try out one of the batman games, but it looks so huge, i'm afraid that I will just keep getting lost.Batman Arkham City is an absolute must. yes I forgot to mention that UC2 I played awhile back, and it was probably my favorite single player game until TLOU. I like UC2 because its just a fun game and had lots of action. TLOU on the other hand was a slower pace, but I felt that it really did a good job on the writing, voice acting, and I loved watching the bond form between the characters, something fresh and special : heavy rain

You have to play inFamous and inFamous 2. I also recommend the Sly Collection and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, which are all just plain fun.sagejonathanI've been hearing a lot of positive recommendations about infamous. I will definitely give it a go after fc3.
Talk about single-player games, and not a mention of Skyrim or Fallout 3. Bro, these two games don't have much of a story but they have massive worlds with lots to do and they're both very immersive. I would say Fallout 3 actually has a good story, because although it doesn't make you want to protect characters, it does make you feel about what happens to your dad and, eventually, you. Some other games which had a nice blend of gameplay or story, or both are:
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (dated, but I feel it's better than Skyrim)
Assassin's Creed 3 (You should at least borrow part 2 and play through to get a hook on things, forget Brotherhood and Revelations)
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
Bad Company 2
Batman: Arkham City (Sooooo much better than Arkham Asylum)
Uncharted 3
Far Cry 3
Lair (very old but amazing, goes pretty cheap nowadays)
Overlord 1 and 2
Dark Souls
Dishonored
InFamous 2
GoW 1,2 and 3
Lords of Shadow had the best story until I recently played another game, which I'll tell you more about later. Dark Souls is only for the brave and is extremely difficult, but the background story, gameplay and music is awesome. Dishonored is a semi-linear first-person assassin style game, and is pretty good too. Uncharted 3 is somewhat like LOU, gameplay wise. Overlord has some very unique gameplay and used to be my favorite game, and I'm proud to say that my favorite game right now is LOTR: Conquest :P. If you play the whole God of War series, the story is actually good. Lair got bad reviews, but believe me, it is a great game. If you're really tight on money buy these: Lords of Shadow, Arkham City, Skyrim and Far Cry 3. If you got more money, then get Dishonored and Dark Souls.
Honestly, one game which has a better story than LOU or LoS was Crisis Core, but it's unfortunately only on PSP. You'll actually cry at the end of the game, even if you're a man. That game has the characters which I was most attached to.

If you want that connection, I'm telling you, try Heavy Rain. Â You WILL connect with the characters. Â The gameplay in Heavy Rain can have some real consequences - your characters can die and the game/story will continue. Â
It starts off slow, but it's just getting you familiar with the controls. Â Try it.

heavy rain is a game that I have heard about many times from other friends, but just never got around to trying it. I did see the trailer for beyond with ellen page and it looked interesting. Farcry 3 looks pretty big so far, and i'm not sure how long it will take me to finish it, but perhaps I will give heavy rain a try after.I have played skyrim a few times, but it was on my friends PC. At first I was really into it. The game world is vast and their is a lot of exploring to do, but to be honest it's not for me. I got bored after about 4-5 hours of playing. I don't mind playing rpgs, but the skills in skyrim looked kind of weak and not that flashy. Maybe it was because I only played for a short time. Does the ps3 still have a skyrim bug? I thought awhile back I heard that skyrim had problems on the ps3.Talk about single-player games, and not a mention of Skyrim or Fallout 3. I love ur list of games.
Take a bunch of very high rated games, and voila! A great list of games probably most of which I don't even like or have played! But seriously, Portal 2 and Tomb Raider don't deserve to be among such masterpieces, I personally think they're terrible.
And to OP, I've played for around a hundred hours and I've only experienced one bug, which was quite entertaining. A mammoth was grazing and suddenly, it flies up 5 meters into the air, stand there for 5 seconds, and as soon as it tries to take another bite of grass (or air maybe?), it fall over the giant next to it and guess what? Free loot! I would recommend the Legendary Edition as it gives you all the DLC which are MUCH MUCH MORE better than the original game.
