I'm currently using the DLink DGL4300 for my PS3. It works great. No lag, Stable connection; and I'm using SBC Yahoo ISP which is pretty s***y

You can use every router on the market for gaming as long as the signal is strong enough to build a stable connection to your gaming device. That said: If the PS3 is far away from the router, make sure to buy a router which has a fantastic WLAN connection. Personally: I had better experiences going with DLAN, especially if there another device which uses WLAN near the PS3. I actually changed my setup because I had troubles with wireless with my fattie 40GB and my girlfriend had the same troubles with her slim (the one which came with Tekken 6), both times we had interruption with wireless when we used other devices at the same time and we were able to fix it by going through DLAN and using just a switch to decrease the amount of devices which use WLAN, including the PS3

I am using the DIR-655 and have it connected to a printer that's shared over my network and it works like a charm. I can use my laptop, desktop and PS3 at the same time without a problem.
