Good/great games that didn't get the exposure or credit they deserved?

Just thinking really.

Everyone knows of the blockbuster games with high ratings like the GTA/Uncharted/MGS/any EA Sports franchise/etc and most people have bought them, but what of the great games that people missed out on that should really have done a lot better.

I'd love to try something new and it's been forever since I bought a new game, even longer since I bought one that wasn't an obvious choice.

Last I can really think of that I bought and enjoyed was Mirror's Edge. I pray they make a sequel but the original sold so few that I highly doubt they ever will.

System Shock 2, Grim Fandango, Psychonauts, not many people have played or even heard of them

Resonance of Fate. No one ever talks about that game. It's phenominal.

Nice list. I've played all three of them, great games.

I'd say Yakuza 3. I know quite a lot of people talk about it on GS but people who don't really follow gaming community websites etc will overlook this game.

Alone in The Dark: Inferno is a game I utterly enjoyed but most people seem to dislike it.

Valkyria Chronicles - Sold so badly that the sequel had to be done on the PSP.

the first kane and lynch was extremly underaprecciated only getting a small cult following afterwords, but the 2nd game sucked.

FFXIII kinda counts but so many people love this game it just has a very obnoxious hater fanbase, almost as bad as mw2 haters where they just mention how much the game sucks even though no one even hinted at refrencing it, so i gues it doesnt count

infinite undiscovery ahd a bad dub and was short for a rpg(24-30 hours), those were its only cons and litterly no one liked this game at all

Nier. Amazing gem that is.

Modnation Racers - It's a genuinely fun kart racer that gives you so much, but really didn't get that much exposure.

Deffo Valkyria Chronicles, fantastic game, picked it up just recently.

have to agree with this guy, only recently finished this game and is one awesome game.. farcry2 was also a good game but it seems that everyone hated it, annnddd vanquish. i'll leave it at that

I gotta go with Heavenly Sword. One of my favourite games this gen but nobody talks about it and it didn't sell well enough. Enslaved is another. Both are Ninja Theory games. I actually feel bad for Ninja Theory because they make fantastic games that never get enough attention or sales.

Heavenly Sword sold like 1.5 million copies worldwide. That is not bad for a system that only had 5-10 million users at the time. 2 to 3 million of the userbase were North American, so selling three hundred thousand copies wasn't as bad as Ninja Theory claimed it was. The problem with Heavenly Sword was its length. $60 for 6 hours is crap. True, experience is greater than the length. If a game is too short, then that great experience doesn't last.

Yakuza Series - Some great games that don't get much attention.

Singularity - Wasn't a "Great" game but didn't get the credit it deserved.

MAG - When it came out it got panned for various reasons, after they fixed all the problems that were presented and got no credit for listening to its players.

I think Socom 4 got screwed with this PSN outage. It has a pretty terrible singleplayer, but the Online play is pretty awsome.

I think Flashpoint Dragon rising was a pretty cool game. It had bad graphics but really realistic gameplay.

I also think Splinter cell conviction didnt get the credit it deserved (even though it did get alot of credit)

I also think MX Vs. ATV Reflex was alot of fun but not very well known
