GOW3, a true Masterpiece!!

I've got to say, I've been on a quest the past 3 1/2 weeks, once I stepped into Part 1 of the trilogy of Kratos. And after each one, all of the hardships of wanting to throw my controller at the tv was more than worth it. I would say this series is the essence of true gaming at its finest. I for one can't beleive that GOW3 only got a 9.0 here. The story, pacing, puzzles, boss battles and the ending is just epic, and something that all games should strive for.

Sorry I'm just drooling right now, on how they pulled off the ending. And on howmuch of amasterpiece they put together forpart 3, it is definitly something that all (of age lol) gamers that have a ps3 should par take of. I definitly don't even think movies or even a book could touch the senses as much as this game does.

I'll say it now, I think it deserved a 10. And a round of Applause is needed for the devs of Santa Monica. Cheers.

P.S.Once again if I'm rattling, I just got done beating the game, and my mind is blown :)

I just did the entire trilogy one after the other, and about 3/4 of the way through part 3 is when I would say that part 3 over took part 2. Part 1 the story got lost alot but was pulled together. Part 2 they did a great job of keeping the story going, but part 3 the story flowed the best out of all of them through out the entire game. Part 2 was awesome but part 3 will definitly leave the most lasting memories out of all of them.

Far from a masterpiece. Great game, though. I think GS got the score right.

I still can't get over how amazingly mind-blowing the opening part of the game was. It's easily one of the most epic parts in any game ever. Seriously. :shock:

I was loving the game until the end boss fight.. What a snore probably the dullest boss fight I have ever played. Still a great game though but after all the great boss fights what was up with that?

I MOSTLY agree. The only thing I would take from Gow3 and put into Gow2 would be Gow3's epic scale and the cestus. Gow3 does end the story though, and you do see more into the mind of Kratos in the 3rd installment.

All in all, I think the the 2nd and 3rd ones are must plays. I say skip the first GoW if one has the chance.

Im sure you got your reasons, but GOW1 doesn't really compare to the 2nd and 3rd. Your really missing out unless you just don't care for this type of game.

It was a great game, but...

[spoiler] I was extremely disappointed on how rarely they used the opening scale in the rest of the game. The Cronos fight was amazing, but how come that was the only time we fought a titan? There were so many missed oppertunities to use the game's 'epic scale' after the first half hour or so. Another was how short the game was and the lack of more boss fights. [/spoiler]

Loved GOW & GOW 2 on PS2, and when I get my new PS3 at the end of this month I will be buying the GOW collection (for the trophies) and GOW 3 to play after recompletion of GOW & GOW 2 looking forward to GOW 3 sooooo much! :D

And I'll say it again, the final boss was a bit of letdown. Not bad, but a letdown, to say the least. I expected something almost, if not more epic than the opening sequence/boss. Now THAT was epic.

Meh! Overrated, good, epic even, but no masterpiece. For me, very few games meets the standards of games such as Deus Ex, Thief, Diablo, Sanitarium, Gangsters, Shining Force...etc etc The closest thing to masterpiece this gen is, Valkria Chronicles, Demons Souls, Advance Duel Wars (DS) and Arma 2 BC2, UC2 and Halo3 are all very good games too thoughtirralirra

Game was such a dissapointment for me. The fact that the game's opening was the most epic part of the game just killed it for me. Maybe it was matched by one other part but other than that, the game is your average hack 'n slash, only with a TERRIBLE story and extremely bland graphics. Why is every damn thing grey?

Everything isn't grey. How can you say that? It's not true. Technically, and artistically, the game is impressive. Just because a game doesn't have vibrant, colorful environments like Uncharted 2, doesn't mean it's 'bland'. You make it sound as though it's nothing but dull and grey, and after playing the game I just cannot see how you came to that conclusion.

GOW3 is indeed fantastic but I definitely found it disappointing in some areas compared to the others. The story was lacking, the bosses bar one or two were underwhelming and the length was too short. GOW2 is a far better game in my opinion, maybe part 3 doesn't wow me as much because the others were just so much more awesome.

I have no idea either why u see nothing but grey. If you mean fog and smoke yes there is some, but i didn't notice it being all that. True you don't see many bright colors, but the setting does not require bright colors or force everything to be a single grey. Its meant to be all stone and wood and not a modern setting. I think your just expecting something different than a mythology setting. No rainbows here.

I think it's really the best video game series ever. We all have our different tastes, but being such a big fan of greek mythology to begin with, I think these games stand out like no other. The story is amazing and how they made the gods and titans look was breath taking, not to mention the environments. The first was still my favorite in the series and probably always will be. Going on a journey from man to god was mind blowing and didn't seem fathomable. Plus Pandora's Temple was the single coolest place in any of the games. The third game was intense with all the various gods. I loved the designs for all.

i feel bad.....i have the game and haven't started it yet. I just platinum'd the second one the other day. So, I might start it today.

Just about sums it up :)
