gran turismo 5 or hot pursuit?

i'm leaning more towards hot pursuit, since day 1(ps1 days-ps2 days) i'm a need for speed guy- need for speed 2, high stakes, porsche unleashed, hot pursuit 2, underground 1, most wanted and my recent purchase shift (which i'm loving it!) are my favs. but hot pursuit 2 has a special place in my heart.

don't get me wrong gts are awesome because it's "realistic" simulator approach, especially the games itself show what it can do about simulation on video games from real life, especially now in the ps3 engine, but in real life i don't really "know" or don't have that much knowledge about cars and it's detailed parts, that's why it's called "racing simulator".

i'm more comfortable in nfs games. but hey if i'll have extra cash gt5 is my 2nd racing game to buy, why not.

GT5 in a heartbeat. Every NFS game lasts me about a month, and then i never touch it again. Games like GT3 or GT4 have endless replay value.racing1750

unless they go back to hot pursuit 2 formula i'd say gt5 just make sure you have a racing wheel it's not an arcade racer.

I'm going to get both as soon as i can but i'll get GT5 first since it will last longer.

Ever since i learned that Hot Pursuit is going to be open world like the horrible burnout paradise, i have lost all interest. I would have actually gotten it if it had linear tracks like Hot Pursuit 2 on the last generation consoles. But now that i know the game will be bad, i will go with GT5, but i'd still play HP2 over either of them.

ill end up getting both...but ill probably get GT5 first

i like both but i will probably get gt5 first then wait until a price drop for nfshp

I'd say go for NFS. I know the recent games haven't been that good, but criterion is developing this one and after seeing what they did with paradise I'am sure this will be an amazing game. Also I've never really been into GT. Sim racing just seems boring compared to arcade racers.

I'll buy my next NFS game when EA announces Underground 3. Fortunately though there are two other racing games that I must have to be released, TDU2 and GT5.

GT5, I don't think hot pursuit would be able to keep my interest more than a few days.
