grand theft auto or getaway?

my question is do u think the getaway has a chance of being on the same level

because that getaway video is real time in game graphics and it was made over a year ago. :|but the video of gta vid that came out a month or two ago and the pictures in gamepro magazine doesnt look as good to me. whats your opinion:question:

This is all opinion, but I think GTA will be better based on my past experience with both franchises.

The Getaway is heavly story driven. At least, in the two previous PS2 Getaways, the story is really all you can do. Anything else is just kinda there.

GTA has more of a interactive world, but while it has a good story, it isn't as in your face or necassary as the Getaways.

All though I think I might get both. 

hard to tell now, as none of the games are out yet. if the getaway's devs don't get the gameplay right, and screw up as in the PS2 incarnations, GTA IV will be a much better game. but as the getaway is taking playce in a real city, this time in HD, the experience will be just great imo.

i can't wait to cruise through london HD, neither can i wait to play GTA.

ok i agree that thing looks pretty darn good, but thats graphics, games arent all about graphics. GTA gamewise overall is wayy wayyy wayyyyy better. Getaway at the moment looks graphically better, but doesnt have that same game value and fun factor GTA holds.

And you may be suprised with GTA's graphics, its been described by those who have viewed as the same dramatic graphical change as was GTA II to GTA III and the best next gen graphics anyone has yet witnessed in a normal game. And the screenshots on OPM look way better than anything ive seen before and their still only 50 percent complete.

It's all down to personal taste really. I like the GTA series but they aren't great games for eveyone.

The getaway was an ambitious game and deserves a decent sequel BUT it needs to evolve and the only natural direction is that of GTA, which is why GTA has a head start. The GTA series has evolved over three games and Rockstar are unlikely to allow their cashcow baby to be anything less than GTA:SA really...

So it's probably going to be GTA that does better...esp as it's cross platform. It's pretty obvious.

Let's be honest.. Last 2 getaway games = not so good.

Last 5 grand theft auto games (only counting the full ones) = awesomness.

I'm not saying that the new getaway is going to be crap because it looks good and all.. I'm just saying that previous experiencess lead me to believe that gta4 will be great ..

And remember getaway as always looked better thatn gta .. i mean gta's have never looked that good but the gameplay and the experience was always fun.

My only complaint about gta4 is why liberty city ? .. I never liked GTA3 taht much because of liberty city .. vice city was way cooler and GTA san andreas was awesome because you could get into planes and what do we hear now? .. no flyable planes in GTA4 :cry:
