My friend just bought a PS3 a few days ago after I talked him into it. He really wanted to get GTAIV but all he had was a Wii. One of the major reasons he got the PS3 was so we could play online together. Well for some reason, everytime we try to group up to play GTAIV multiplayer, the person who received the invite gets a message saying, "The game is no longer in session." when it clearly is. Is it just not possible for us to use the same router since we have the same IP or what? We havn't been able to test any other games. If anyone has any information or suggestions, please let me know.Eyes_of_Ice
You are probably having a problem with NAT. Normally you have have the same IP, because NAT associates a particular port number or numbers with each machine. Sometimes, particularly with online gaming, this is sort of cludged. You may want to see if different types of NAT are supported and play with that a little, or better yet, see if your ISP provides multiple IP addresses. That would almost certainly work.
A lot of people have been having the same problem. it has nothing to do with both of you being on the same router because me and my room are connected to the same router wirelessly and can play other games online at the same time with no problem. I think GTA4 is having troubles with the servers or the mass amounts of people trying to get connected to the multiplayer.Esgabaldon
I didn't see that before I posted. So have you been able to play GTAIV with someone else on the same router yet?
NAT 2 is good. alot of people are unable to play gta4 online and getting the unable to connect to game server message.Esgabaldon
That's still happening? I thought it was fixed.
