Grrr, My pointer Moves..*HELP*

ok, So I get right down to it.. I thought my joystick might have been broken like the spring or something, so I took it out becuase it was kind of rigidy when I would move the joystick around.. that and it would spin, so i got a new one off of Ebay.. So i decided to take it out all together just so I could game and what not and to my suprise the pointer still goes DOWN!!! making it impossible to do anything.. if all the joystick componets are out then WTF is making it go down!

I dont wanna send it in P.S...

well I havent replaced it yet, Just took it out completely...

No one has ever had this problem before!?
