hey they are entitled to their opinion. anyways in my opinion there are two type of people when it comes to futball games. those who like futball and those who like to watch futball. sure fifa got more licenses and all but if you like to play futball and actually enjoy the game PES is the way to go in my opinion. seems the reviewer prefers wathcing futball over playing it, in which case why not just get ESPN lol.

ah well if thats what he enjoys good for him lol i played the demo for both and PES is still more fun and realistic then FIFA in my opinion.

I have been a fan of PES since the Super Nintendo days (when it came out in Italy as International Super Star Soccer)

And Konami has been now for years sitting on their butt withouth making any attempt to seriously bring this great franchise in Next Gen

Is that a reason why why should buy a game taht looks like a PS2 game EVERY SINGLE YEAR ? NO

This will be my second years withouth buying a PES game and i won't till they will make it worth the SIXTY DOLLARS

Lame! I have a Euro version on import due to the IGN review. It looks like I'll buy FIFA today and put my copy of PES on eBay when it arrives. I wonder why there is such a huge discrepancy in the scores. The game sounds great when you read the IGN review, it sounds horrible here!guyhunter

The 360 version does not suffer from the same poor frame-rate.

Pro evo deserved the scores it got, it the same game as last year.

Konami needs to build a new engine for next years game.

I have always been a pro evo fan,football is like a religion to me and newcastle united are the s***, but fifa is clearly the way to go this year.

Konami have allowed fifa to sur-pass there next gen games this year, and anybody saying fifa 08 is not realistic is wrong, sorry you are, check the reviews quite a few reviewers gave it negative points for changing from arcadey to simulation, fifa is basicly pure football simualtion this year and its great.

Any pro evo fan that is dissapointed should rent fifa and try it, gone are the days of 30 yard screamers every five mins, gone are the days of 1-2 passes a lob through ball and a goal, the only way to perform well at the new fifa is to play football, pass it around send your men on runs.

Physics in pro evo this do not even compare with fifa, i know allot of hardcore fans will disagree till they die they will never admitt fifa is the better game, but this year on next gen platforms it is, and pro evo fans should not support the trash that konami have put out again this year there been basicly nothing but minor improvements for two years, i still belive konami have still not even developed a next gen pro evo.

It's quite clear IGN sponsor pro evo.

It's terrible, everybody who has played pro evo 08 knows theres big problems buy IGN give it a 9.0+ and to me that conned me into buying the game, i was on the fence to start with after 07's poor performance, but knowing the quality the pro evo games give and when i read ign review i thought great.

Complete rip-off.

I bought fifa soon after and its ten times the football game pro evo is, pro evo got traded in.

Konami need to build a next gen pro evo engine, and make a real next gen version, IMO they have been just milking the series for 3 years putting out the same game code with a few updated players teams and a few minor tweaks.

as usual the 360 version gets an extra point for just being the 360 versiond_ano

360 doesnt have bad frame-rate issues and PS3 doe's, they are both poor next gen version but the PS3 one is worse.

Honestly it is, there still allot of pro evo fans that have basicly accepted this version and still claim the ps2 port is better than fifa 08 on ps3/360, it's not.

I'm english and football is my main hobbie, i constantly watch and play football, ive played football competitvly since i was 6 years old in junior leagues, i played football for mens sunday league teams when i was 14(and got kicked all over) i'm not just saying it fifa 08(next gen) is leaps and bounds ahead of pro evo in every aspect.

Check some reviews they state fifa has went all out simulation and it has, the physics system is amazing, just all round gameplay works great, there no lag 99% of the time, after around 100 online games i can only remember 1 laggy match thats where my 99% comes from.

Even the hardcore of pro evo fans shsould not support this game, why do you think konami have put the same version out for 2 years because in europe it sells like hot cakes still, and untill people realise they will not change untill they have too, development costs are at a minimum, they have not built a next gen engine(its an updated engine) and the profits will be huge for them.

Pro evo fans need to demand a real next gen version, take 2 years if they need to, bring back a real next gen version.

I've been playing the game for nearly a week now and im sure there are times during actual games that the frame rate slows slightly...and i dont mean replays...is it possible this can happen to some and not others as ive seen many people say theres doesnt??...

And how does the install game work in terms of helping slve the problem??...

As for the game...its still the best you can get simply because its as close to REAL footy as it gets...but 2009 better have all the improvements Konami are hinting at or PES is going to get overtaken and left behind.

the game does have some frame rate issues but only in the replays and when the referee give a fool during the cutscense. I'm actually not enjoying it much.
