Hey guys, I think I read somewhere online that Kaz Hari said that GT5 is so advanced that it's really a representation of what the PS4 or whatever the next gen of systems will be capable of. Any thoughts?

In fact PS3 is a combination of 7th and 8th Generation game console. The full power yet to be unveil.

its not an example of "ps4", its an example (much like KILLZONE2) of what happens when you spend YEARS on an exclusive game.

Well, Uncharted 2 was made in less than two years and is one of the prettiest console games ever made so that kind of blows your logic out of the water doesn't it? I do agree however that more time spent on an exclusive usually pays off, excluding Too Human for the 360. The fact is that in the hands of a talented game developer who actually takes the time to learn the architecture of the Cell Processor, the PS3 is a BEAST and the 360 honestly has no game that can compare visually aside from Mass Effect 2(which is nothing compared to Killzone 2 or God of War 3).

How come this guy never compared killzone and uncharted directly? you have to be kidding me to say uncharted 2 has better graphics than killzone 2.

yes the basis of uncharted 2 was made in 2 years, but you have to remember that it used pretty much everything the did in Uncharted 1 and the building of the engine before that.. GT5 was pretty much from the ground up..

The detail they went into for the car models for photo is "next gen"

Not the game itself

If GT on the PS4 will look like GT5, it will look pretty poor.

I have played both games and I was honestly not as impressed with KZ2 as I was with Uncharted 2. It takes a lot to shock me and I was totally stunned by how detailed the visuals were and it's not just textures but the emotion and animation on the faces. Finally a game where the people don't look like walking corpses! I actually felt like these were real actors that I had a connection to.

They're just making use of what they have to work with (PS3). Same thing'll happen next gen. Some games just look better than others, but we'll see how it plays.

i read somewhere that this has to do with the crazy amount of detail they put into the cars, so much that not all of it will be even noticed unless it was a next gen system

Detailed? The Detail in Uncharted 2 doesn't even come close to either god of war or killzone.

I honestly felt that the facial animation was too cartoonish in the game. It's one thing to think the acting is better, but how do you think the graphics are detailed !??!

The animation in Uncharted 2 is better at displaying emotions and personality, Cartoonish or not. That said, they're both stunning games. Probably the best of different genres. IMO too different to compare and say that one looks better than the other. They have just concentrated on different areas of the visual aspect.

Uncharted 2 does not look that much different from it's predecessor. So naturally Uncharted 2 only has "enhanced" graphics.

I'm sure it will look great, but Kaz has a habit of, shall we say, engaging in hyperbole? He also said that it will look "better than reality".

Kaz is out of his gourd so I don't take anything he says at face value. I mean, if you really want to it's not hard to find the flaws in videos and screenshots of the game - where they've used low textures, lower polygon counts, cheats on the lower poly in-game car models, grilles, intakes and the like. It still looks great, but it doesn't look like something you'd find on a next gen console. That's just crazy talk.

I highly doubt that, I'm sure when its released it still won't surpass graphics of Uncharted and Killzone 2

well i think the most amazingthings are gonna come after GT5 i mean GT5 is really advanced, and it really represent this generation of gaming, but i think that $ony and polyphonic can create something even bigger than GT5,i have heard on the internet that their goal is that one day you could choose any car in the world and drive it.something like that

It's just marketing. GT5 is of the best caliber a developer can make this gen. That bar should be raised by next gen.

I know I will get alot of abuse, but can I honestly ask, in what way does GOW III look amazing?, I dont know the game looks ok but theres nothing that stands out to me, some of the bosses are cool looking but it looks poorer than most exxlusives on the ps3.

GT5 graphics and realism aren't that great as some fans try to portray. GT5 has great looking cars and great looking replays, but the scenery and tracks could look a lot better on stronger systems (read: the PC). It also isn't comparable to the best PC race sims in terms of realism.

That said, it will still be the best racer in the last few years.
