now hopefully the inclusion of nascar will bring damage to this game, id just be pissed to see them add damage to the nascar part and still keep it out of the rest of the game, truthfully i expect as much to happen and will once again pass on GT

I couldn't care less about damage, personally. In fact, I often find it distracting and a major fun killer in racing games that do feature it.

Damage forces you to ensure proper, actually simulation-like, style of driving... You can see it in Forza 2 (and I hope in Forza 3 as well) where you're forced to be careful with throttle and breaking to not spin your car, crash into other car etc., or you'll just finish the race... IMO damage is extremely important part of racing games...

I believe they've justified the "no damage" aspect before as a marketing issue. Alot of manufacturers didn't want players to see the damage caused to the vehicles from accidents, or to see the cars in such an ugly state. Not positive, but I remember something about it. And Gran Turismo BY FAR provides the most realistic handling and physics, so I don't think some body damage is enough to dethrone it.

again you cannot be the real driving sim without damage you just cant, goin 200 miles a hour into a wall and having nothing happen is a slap in the face of racing and racing fans

And if you are playing a simulator and driving like that you should...sell the game or get better. Seriously if you have 8 great drivers on gt the lack of damage isn't a issue because they will drive well enough not to slam into eachother like an arcade racer.

yes thats true i did forgot that untill the post above, but either way its slap in the face of racing, and its fans, crashes/damage is a part of any kind of racing and even driving, the fact that a race game has no damage is laughable, a racer with rally racing with no damage is to funny, and now iwth nascar it will be down right hysterical, and adding it to one or two aspects and keepin it out of the other would just be a big " bend over and take it "

but rubbing and pushin a car out of your way is a huge part of racing, your gonna tell me in all your GT races youve never smacked the bumper of another racer to pass them? well actaully to tell the truth you probly havent because smackin the bumper of another racer does nothing in the game unlike real racing where the car would get loose and youd pass, instead they just drive strait as they where with no problem, its beyond unrealistic

In all my experiences, hitting another car does just as it would in real life. Only the damage doesn't show. They get forced off the track, slow down, slam into barriers, etc. And when I'm speeding around hairpin turns at 100mph in the swiss alps, with cars all around me, the first thing on my mind isn't "oh how i wish that bumper would have fallen off!". But I guess thats just me.
