I personally don't mind GT5 having no damage, since I'm more into tuning and getting the car sideways instead of driving the wrong direction crashing into the enemy AI. But I think it be great if they did have damage, because i like the "dammit, I spun and hit the wall, at least the wreck looks mad tyte" feeling like in DiRT (which i personally think has the best damage modeling). It was said in an interview that there will be damage-but I highly doubt b/c it takes longer to make considering it already takes like 7 months just to make one car. ionno, what do you guys think?

I heard that they want damage, but only about half of the companies agreed to have damage shown on their cars, the other half dont want consumers to see the realistic damage.

Really? O_o that's what i thought at first but seeing other games like Forza having damage...But when you said half the companies wanting damage/no damage, I can see why since GT has more car brands and such.

Well, maybe doing damage is too hard for their programers?

It takes skill and some people just don't have it. ;)

It's nothing to do with dev skill or time, it's all about the car companies wanting you to see their pretty cars how they are meant to be seen. Not with a huge ding in one side, and a front wing missing. It's a similar issue to PES not having 'proper' team names etc - a licensing issue.

Polophony Digital has the skill ... it may be that the PS3 doesn't have enough power to run the game @ 1080P, @ 60 fps, with 16 cars on the track at once, with damage.

I think Polyphony said that not all companies want their cars to have the damage models. So, perhaps some cars will have it.
