Apples? Meet Oranges.
This comparrison is not going to get you the game you will get the most play out of... it's two completely different focus of game play. There's no answering this question.
:?
Sorry.
For a gamer like me who dislikes arcade racing for the most part, the choice is obvious. GT5. But you probably aren't very much like me. And, lucky you on that count.
:)
I won't compare the two because its sim racer vs arcade racer but imo Burnout Paradise beats NFS and thats a fair comparison since they are both arcade racers.
Thnks 4 ur points frnd..Sorry if im a bit late but honestly If you can get both. they both offer very different styles of racing and both are great games.
I see you've chosen NFS for now, just remember even when you beat the offline the online is fantastic and worth checking out

OoooooO... yeah... uh... I really loved the "BurnOut" series up until they released "Paradise" (one of the few arcade types to capture my attention over the years), but I was really, REALLY disappointed with "Paradise". I don't think it holds a candle to the PS2 and PSP versions of the series in terms of presentation or over-all quality. "Paradise" is never one of my reccomendations. Kinda broke my heart that they allowed the game to slip like that. THe open world was a pain in the pah-tootie, the crashes were scaled back from the cinematic glory of "TakeDown", they ditched the Crash Mode (a game mode I surprisingly LOVED)... and the Trophy crud popping up for breathing or tying your shoes, even, got ridiculous.
I really wish they hadn't done all of that to a series which was so much fun to pass the ol' controller around on.

I never played any of the Burnouts before Paradise so I can't comment on the older ones (although thats usually the case most people find them better).
Paradise did alot right though:

Yeah, all of that can be considered a plus... It just wasn't the series entry I fell in love with dang-near ten years or so ago when I got that first copy of "BurnOut", wondering if it was gonna be any good (and boy-howdy was it ever!)
:)
"Paradise" isn't remotely broken and it IS fun, it's just not the girl who caught my eye way-back-when.
Depends on your favor of racer... Do you like arcade racers with cop chases and amazing crashes??? then NFS: HP is probably for you... However if you like real life racing then GT5 comes as close to the real thing as you will find...Swavo69420This TC. Me = NFS: HP

I know exactly what you mean. "Showtime" mode, while you could initialize it anywhere and at any time, just wasn't as much fun as a pre-set playground to smash into.neither are perfect, but I would say Hot pursuit is slightly better.
GT5's mp is boring, you get no rewards (no xp, no credit, and no trophy), and single player is boring once you reach level 20, it requires a lot of experience grinding to level up even you have finished all spec event A event in your levels. SPEC B is pure wasting time, watching stupid A.I. playing by itself, it's neither fun or exciting tho I still manage to make my spec b driver to lv 22.
Vehicle damange system is also dated....A.I. is stupid....anyway GT5 is only good if you are a car enthusiast, otherwise you might find it boring once you reach lv20 on spec A as well as very boring spec b which starts from beginning..
Online rewards are now in place as of the 1.05 patch. Probably done by PD to encourage people to build up their garages first and get some experience behind the wheel before bringing their game online.neither are perfect, but I would say Hot pursuit is slightly better.
