GTA 4 Online Problem: Plz help

I just got my copy of gta a couple of days ago, and while the SP works fine so far, I cannot play multiplayer. Everytime i get into a game lobby, i sit there for a second, then it kicks me out and says "connection to other players has been lost. I have not played an online match yet. Anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it. Does the new Firmware help. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated, THX.

Yeh, it's a common problem - I get the same on the vast majority of connection attempts, sometimes it works - most of the time it doesn't. Check your NAT settings it should be either 1 or 2. The patch does little to recify it if anything and it's unlikely the new firmware would help as the problem clearly lies on the GTA servers. You could try either placing the PS3 in a DMZ or portforwarding, you should be able to find a short list of ports needed for GTA on this board or via T2 support. I've done this and nothing has helped so far and I have a NAT2 connection. I guess we'll just wait for another patch or somekind of statement saying everything is working...
