I am also having the same problem. I have just bought the game and cannot use the phone. According to the guide to use the phone you need to hit up (I get the view of the phone) but when I press up again I just hear a beep and I cannot activate the phone pad. When I select X I get the following message: A connection to the network could not be established. Go to settings 80130182. I don't yet have an internet connection but I did not see anything in the guide that says you need this to play the game *(and use the phone). Any help?
You can't use it at the beginning of the game. Your cousin gives you his old phone after a couple of missions and then you can you the phone.chathuranga
he's saying that he has the cellphone already. he just can't figure out how to get the keypad showing on the screen.
Thanks guys. Some confusing different messages. I am at the stage where I have been given the phone by the cousin and am not yet able to get the keypad screen. I only get the phone screen. When I press up again nothing happens. What do you mean by after a few missions you will be able to use the phone? By missions does that include getting from the dock to the house in the car? Also, please can someone confirm that you do not need an internet connection on my PS3 to use the phone in this game. Thanks
