One of the best games in the series, ever. This game reminds me of the glory days of GTA, and what I fell in love with the series for... The Top-Down view is how this game truly hits a stride. Voiced cut scenes would have been nice, but seriously, this game is nigh-on perfect. The controls are accurate and tight, and the graphics, audio, and especially the radio stations haven't been this solid and fun to play with in years... "CTW" has rekindled my love affair with Liberty City.I would love a sequel.

How 'bout you?

;)

What did you like about it, and do you think the top-down format is cool?

i want to play it but i cant, it available for download for every region known to man except for the North american region. damn sony and their lack of support for NA region. (not wonder vita is failing (NA is the biggest region that buy games in the world), no gta games, no mgs games, no megaman powerup, no bundles and deal and we have the worst market place interface that is available)

Did you try downloading it to your PS3 then upload it via usb connection? Numerous PSP games not yet officially supported by Vita works through this method.

I have the game on psp and ipad and its fun to play on both devices. The top down view is ok, but i would like to see a 3d level game made for a sequel- if only to take advantage of the Vita's high quality graphics. The possibilty of having the excellent story line of CTW coupled with the graphics found in GTA IV would be to good to pass up for just another top side view game, IMO.

:D

Yep, reminds me a LOT of the first two games in the series, which were the games I fell in love with. GTA3 was ground-breaking, but I laughed my ass off when gamers were like "WOW! Where did THIS game come from?"

I had been jacking cars and causing mayhem for years before that game hit the shelf!

I haven't looked at PSP games on the PSN in a dog's age, but I thought it (CTW) was available for NA PSP/ PSPGo users... That's completely weird that they don't have it.

:?

I feel your pain.

I got it on UMD cuz I have a PSP2000... Picked it up for $10us ages ago, and juuuuust put it in my machine whilest on my current road trip. The game is awesome...

It's funny how this is the only GTA game I ever finished. It's missing so many things from the other PSP games, like voice acting, radio hosts, enterable buildings. And yet, it's the only one that made me play it through to the end. Maybe it was the addictive nature of the drug dealing and safehouses. I'm not sure. I surely enjoyed it though. It's too bad it sold so poorly. People scoffed it simply for being top-down.

I bought it for the DS, the iPhone and iPad. Played each version for about 10 minutes, then quit. I just can't get down with top-down GTA. Sorry, folks.

no PSOne classics work on the PSVita at this moment, but many PSP games work (even ones that are not available on the Vita store) when you download them on your PS3 and transfer them over. Chinatown Wars will work this way.

GTACW was one of my favorite games on the psp that year. And yes it will play on the vita if you download it from a ps3 then transfer over to the vita. AND IT IS ON THE NA PSN STORE.

So there is no reason, unless you dont have a ps3, to play Chinatown wars on the Vita.

I enjoyed it a pretty good amount Monkey :D nice graphics, very colorful, very mad no voice acting :( in the dialogue, cars were fun, cop chases are fun, I loved doing the little mini games when finding weapons in the trash or using gas stations to make molotovs :D!, or the hot wiring. I bought it when the price went down to 19.99 and it's worth the money :)

I thought the game was average, at best. The writing wasn't nearly as witty as a main-line GTA game was. Perhaps it was the lack of voice acting (and therefore delivery), but it really fell flat. The gameplay was just okay, but it didn't feel as chaotic as old GTA games did. Causing chaos just didn't seem as fun. But I think the biggest insult were the radio stations. Yes, it was a port of a DS game and I shouldn't expect them to redo all of the tunes, but at the very least, let me put in my own custom playlist. Most of the radio stations were pretty bad as is, so I had to listen to 'Anvil' all the time, which isn't that good. The previous GTA games for the PSP had custom soundtracks- it was inexcusable that this one didn't have it.

I liked the Nintendo DS version; it was great. However, not so much the PSP version because it's completely unembellished and the minigames didn't work that well. I prefer Liberty City Stories for the PSP :D

Oh and i forgot the drug dealing mini game is one of the most addicting/rewarding thing in gaming i have experienced. You keep thinking "ok, one more trade and ill stop. Wait! that dealer has it on sale and that dealer is buying for really high." I hope this next GTA Vita will have it

I loved the game. It was some of the most fun I've ever had with a GTA game. The drug dealing was addictive, the missions were creative and inventive, and I loved the wanted system. Best. Wanted. System. EVER IMO. In other words, lots of fun was had.

I totally agree. It's something I wish the other GTAs would allow. Having access to the full game during mutliplayer freeroaming would be a blast, even if it wouldn't work from a story perspective.
