FUTURE GTAs will be exclusive to Sony. It was sonys plan to not make it exclusive cuz they said they wont sell so many consoles till the release of gta 4 thus didnt make a contract of exclusivity, however in the future when sony sells more than 10 mil. there will be a high chance for gta5 to be exclusive.

Unless Sony shells out cash for an exclusive there's no way that's going to happen. Rockstar will make so much cash from the simultaneous multi-plat release of GTA 4 that they'll probably never make another exclusive GTA.
GTA is getting kind of played out. GTA 4 needs to bring something new to the table.
the exclusitivity of gta series is under question because take 2 which is the publisher is near bankrupt go ahead and search about this online you will find many articles about this so whoever buys take 2 will get the rights to the game if they do sell the company

so does the PS3. but any ways. i really dont think Sony is going to get GTA back as a exculsive. why? cuz i am sure M$ wanted to scoop it up for there system as a exculsive, and if M$ didn't buy the exculsive rites to it! then you know Rockstar must be asking for a ton money. and if M$ dont want to fork over that kind of cash what makes you think sony will?

Hahaha what grounds do you make that statement on? Because Phil said so? Are you blind? Microsoft has more money than Sony. GTA IV will sell just as well on the 360 as it does on the PS3 and then Microsoft will start making the push to keep it multi-plat or just sign a huge check and BAAM the game is exclusive. It's how they work.Â

No way dude, no. They are doing multiplat to increase their sales/profit. If Sony keeps strong, which they will, there'd be no reason to go exclusive with xbox. I think you'll find that they may make exclusive downloads or soundtracks or something. Remember guys. Everyone talks about the powerhouse Microsoft is, and they are. But Sony too has quite a chunk of realestate in the world and won't let something like a GTA to MS exclusive.
Rockstar has stated however that the xbox will have exclusive downloadable content :) I'll be getting it for the 360 even though i have a ps3

where were u in the past ? Rockstar gave sony a chance to discuss a new contract but sony didnt extend the contract nor made a new one and thats because sony knew they wouldnt sell so many consoles till the release of gta4 and it will be a loss of money and its LOGIC that Rockstar didnt get any contract from Sony so they gave MS a chance to discuss a contract with them and MS did that and thats how it got multiplat. Rockstar wont make it exclusive for sony without being subsidised for it.
Rockstar has stated however that the xbox will have exclusive downloadable content :) I'll be getting it for the 360 even though i have a ps3

Oh boy, this whole GTA exclusive thing is just a little silly. Sony is not going to push to make GTA exclusive cause though GTA was a cash cow for Sony last gen, GTA is a last gen product and though it'll still sell well on current platforms, Sony has new IPs for this gen; Sony doesn't necessarily need it to be exclusive as MS desperately needs it to be multiplat. MS, that didn't have 1/3 the software Sony did last gen, is scrambling to get some great games for it's self but the mistake they're making is they're fighting for last gen table scraps for this gen and that'll be very obvious by this time 2009.
I know a lot of people love the GTA series and cannot, at this time, imagine any other games having it's sucess but believe it, GTA is a last gen product that'll continue on this gen for the sake of it's loyal fanbase but I don't think Sony is looking at the series as it did last gen. Sony's got new stuff and that'll will be more apparent to all by next year; they always have a bunch of new IPs for their new systems and the PS3 will be no different.

Unless Microsoft buys Take-Two there is no way. Sony has the edge the PS3 is the more high tech, and powerful machine. Its too good of a system not put future GTA games on the PS3. Besides this generation of consoles is full of multiplatform games because third party publishers are realizing that they can and will make more money if they release games on more than one console.

Actually SCE>Microsoft Games. The only advantage is the main company backs them up more. Microsoft ain't as big as you think. Sony actually makes more money than Microsoft annually but MS gets a bigger profit.
