hey guys, i heard that grand theft auto 4 for the playstation 3 requires a mandatory 5-minute install. Now i have no problem with the install. I just want to know how much memory off the hard drive the install is going to require. I have heard 3-5 mbs, but then i was wonderinh, why in the world would it take 5 minutes to install only 3-5 mbs? How is only 3-5 mbs going to make the game just that much faster and run better? I may not be right about my facts, so can any of you guys clear this up for me. any comments appreciated.

i saw a picture of the playstation version of the box on some forums and it said something like 3000 kbs, so i figured it was in only 3 mbs, well thanks for clearing things up guys.

Well if you can't for the same profile/user your brother could always create a new profile/user on the PS3 has they do not share save files.

yes u can...someone with the game said you can have like 10-20...the other guy was just saying he didnt know if u could but if not u could just create another username

If it's a five minute install, it must not be very big. It seems reasonable, taking into consideration the size of the game, and the reported smoother overall performance of this version of the game. It may be mandatory, but it's not bloated, and it seems to have some actual tangible benefit. (for other examples of this, see Oblivion) Mandatory installs don't bother me, bloated installs that offer no advantage other than giving the devs some shortcuts in development do. (DMC4 install is too large, and has a laughably tiny benefit to the actual game performance)

Quit your complaining you big baby. Go get a bigger harddrive, or an external harddrive so you don't have to worry about ever running out of space. I had the 60gb PS3, and now it's a 250gb PS3 with a 160gb external harddrive...;)
I agree that they should make the downloads optional, though
