I know you are going to say. Why all the gtaiv haters. But this is not the first 1/2 hour review. Did you really think gtaiv deserved a 10. I mean when you think oblivion got a 9.5...
If Gamespot hadn't given it a 10, I think they would have upset a lot of die-hard fans. And let's face it, any "die-hard" fan of the GTAIV series probably isn't sharp enough to be able to identify its flaws. Not to mention, Oblivion was a fantastic game but it was buggy as all Hell, even moreso than our beloved GTA series.
Gamespot reviews used to mean something back in the day. 10's were extremely rare. Now we have two 10's within months of each other, both for games that have obvious flaws.
GS is just catering to fanboys now, telling them what they want to hear.
If you really look at the scale and detail of the game, you can rate this game 10. However, i think all this hate for GTA4 comes from the fact ppl stopped playing it after only a little while wen u expect a game like GTA4 to pack 100+ hours of non stop fun. It did have that but i guess ppl got tired of the formula or wanted something new.

GTAIV was an astounding technical achievement, but it had major flaws in story, gameplay, multiplayer, a lot of different things.

i dont get it, u guys cry about why games dont get a 10 and when it does u guys find a way to drop the rating back down? lol wat i think personally, is dont go by wat reviewers say, you are the reviewer, u choice or think if this games deserves wat it gets, and if u think it doesnt then thats ur decision, but alot think, so do i it deserved a 10, it exceeded my expectations
a ten is pretty much the same thing as a 9.5 on such a small scale. to me 10 on a ten point scale doesnt imply perfection moreas its a way of saying the same dots all of its Is and crosses of its Ts. it gets everything it needs to get right, right.
so anything with a 9 is virtually perfect gaming goodness and yes i think all of the gtas, modern gtas, deserve 9s at the least.
Instead of reading a 10 as a "perfect" game, I look at the score as telling me there's a very good chance I'll enjoy playing the game. This is the way I interpet game scores;
1-3 = I'm most likely passing after doing a bit of research on my own.
4-7 = I'm probably renting before buying...again after doing a bit of research on my own.
8-10 = I'll probably buy it...after doing a bit of research on my own.
No game reviewers sole opinion will ever be a final decision maker towards any game(s) I play. If it's a reviewer or source that I trust however, I'll defenitely take their thoughts and words into consideration.
a 10 towards me is not a perfect score it still needs improvement in some area's. but its doing extremely well in other areas. no game would be perfect in my eyes unless if its goldeneye :lol: booom golden gun :P. truthfully to be honest i actually thought this game was one of the worst in the series let alone a ten. vice city is so much better than this. gta iv got so boring and repititive after i completed 62% of the game. after that i was like forget about it. i was actually thought about trading it in but tend to keep it for the multiplayer.
