GTAIV freezing *sigh* PS3s

I'm getting a PS3 soon and wanted to know, just how common it is that the GTAIV is FREEZING PS3s?

I was thinking maybe I'd hold out for an update or something if it's happening to a majority of GTAIV/PS3 owners.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well not breaking, I suppose that wasn't the best way to word it.

But I've read several complaints about it freezing the PS3 over and over.

I thought Rockstar already acknowledged and fixed that with a patch? Regardless, I've never had any problems.Zoso-8

why do u guys say the patch is for the freezin problems, it wasnt!!! if u go read about it, it was ment to help online multiplayer SERVERS.....i for one still do get those freezes

I think I'll take my chances and get it after I get my PS3.

Here's hoping though that if a patch hasn't been released, it will soon.

Some say it only happened to the 60GB often and I'm getting the 40GB.

QFT. I still get the freezes too. The patch was to fix the online problems. it did nothing for the freezing problem. 6 other people on my friends list still have the problem aswell

Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3) is NOT breaking PS3S'! I've had my copy of the game since it came out and my PS3 is just fine (knock on wood)

Can I just clarify again that I worded the topic wrong.

I got word it was FREEZING some PS3s.

No it did fix the freezing problems because mine froze a couple of times before since the patch it never did it again. Delete your internet cache and delete your game data utility then re-install ur game and the patch again see if that works.

It happened to both of them, my friend has a 60gb, he got patch, i have 40gb i got patch.
