Guitar Hero overrated?

Thanks to guitar hero... i actually did go and buy a REAL guitar and guess what... i sound like crap

guitar hero is a fun game and its makes you feel like a Guitar Hero

i play it because i feel the opposite way when i try to rock out on a real one

thats like saying is crack bad for you. DUH, they are so similar to each other its not even funny, and the songs they have arent even that good the first one was awesome, but its just gotten kinda stupid from there...

Anyone else think GH is overrated? I mean all the hype over a stupid game (in my opinion) I mean there's only 5 buttons, the whammy bar and the *string* button. It's seriously for people who can't get outside or pick up a REAL musical instrument, anyone else agree?legofan712

I play guitar and college football and enjoy guitar hero. Yes ther are only 5 buttons and the strum-bar but toss it on expert and see how long you last.

Also the original nintendo had a d-pad, a button, b button, start button, and select button and that didn't stop people from enjoying it.

Ive played this game, it doesnt really appeal to me. With that being said, im not going to say its overrated really...I mean some ppl like it, some ppl hate it. Its called opinions..thats mine

In conclusion, i feel that it has a large consumer base thats why it may seem like it is overrated..when really its jus talked about alot.

Madden is just a stupid game that uses 2 analog sticks and a couple buttons. Why don't people just go outside and play a REAL sport?

Gran Turismo is just a stupid game that uses 1 analog stick and button for gas. Why don't people just go outside and drive a REAL car?

Call of Duty 4 is just a stupid game that uses 2 analog sticks and a couple buttons. Why don't people just go outside and join the REAL army?

its overrated to a certain degree, i play guitar and im good, and i enjoy a good game of guitar hero every now and then

It is always fun to watch someone bump up an old post and then see people reply to it as if it was just posted today.

Completely agree, The Rock Band and Guitar Hero games are highly overrated. All they really do is change up the "flashy-ness" (as I like to put it) in each games and also add new songs.

Don't get me wrong, I own Rock Band and I love playing it with my friends but it most definately isn't the most memoriable game I have ever played and enjoyed. No way that these games deserve like 9's or 10's on any site's rating list. They're fun and all, but there are definately more enjoyable and competative games that are more "full" out on the market.

But then again... I'm the guy that tried Wii once and hates it because my little cousin could swing the controller around and manage to beat me at Wii tennis (when I was actually paying attention). I guess when it comes down to it, you have games designed for "gamers" like me and you, then you have games designed for kids, old people, and people who don't really get too in depth with the whole "video game experience."

That's why Guitar Hero gets high ratings, because it's more for music lovers than game lovers.
