First off, I am a whee 10th grader. I don't have a job yet, and dropping this much money for a handheld better be worth it. So I like to know: what should I get with my PSP? Any game ideas would also be appreciated. O and my main question: will the PSP get redesigned later this year? Because that would SERIOUSLY TICK ME OFF if I got an old version right before it is remaded. I got a DS Lite and love it, but I thought to expand to other handhelds also. Plus my sis has and IPOD, thus I need my own music player to play my own songs.

There used to be a rumour about the new psp..but apparantly it is being dismissed by sony saying that they are juz doing a survey for the new firmware features and say there won't be any new psp for the time being.

Too much rumors going on about the PSP redesign but no reliable source. So I wouldn't think it would happen anytime soon. Not for another 2-3 years anyway.

If you do buy one, here's a list of things to get:

1) Screen guard (Protection from scratches)
2) Memory stick larger than 32 mb (try not to order from eBay)
3) Video games (Don't know what you like)
4) Traveling case (More protection)
5) Stronger battery (Optional)

The games I have been enjoying, Monster Hunter Freedom, Valkyrie Profile, DJ Max Portable, Burnout Legends, and Syphon Filter.

Some games coming out in the future, Final Fantasy, Silent Hill, Devil May Cry, God of War.

Note: You maybe tempted to bring your PSP to school, if you do, avoid putting it in your locker (if you have one). It's so easy to break into a locker especially if you know there is something valuable inside.

Enjoy your future purchase

Cheers :)

Shouldn't the desire to buy a new platform come after finding games on it that you want to play?

Beware of impulse buys; they're never rational decisions and you'll nearly always end up regretting them.

You should definately buy one. Even if a new 1 does come out, I'm not gonna buy it. The games had better work with the current one, because everyone's not gonna drop another 200 bucks for a new one when they just bought the current one.

The PSP is better for gamers who don't have a job because once you have the system the games are cheaper it has a greatest hits lineup that goes for $20 or lower. I don't see the DS has quality games running for that price most of their good games still register at full price so if you have the system just check out the greatest hits collection for the PSP.

Trust me, I never buy impulsively. I saw some Daxter and GTA, and other games, and wanted to buy. Plus the price is lower. I just wanted to know a few more things

All you need is Monster Hunter Freedom ...that will keep you busy for a couple hundred hours :D  Daxter, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Gurumin, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, Lego Star Wars II, Burnout Legends or Dominator, Killzone, Medal of Honor: Heroes, etc.  Daxter, Syphon Filter, and Burnout Legends would be your best bet if your on a budget though, because they all cost $20 each ;)  Monster Hunter Freedom is my all time favorite...but its getting hard to find, and still $40 at most places (though Circuit City has it for $17 if you're lucky enough to find it)..
