ok so i know it shouldnt be rocket science, but the only router i have was made for DSL cuz Cable modems werent out yet. i have a Motorola iO modem connected to my cablebox. i dont know where or how to aquire my IP address or my WLAN key or any of that....plus, ive tried connecting to system to the cable modem, to my tower, and nothing.....and wirelessly it doesnt find any signal. SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO GET ONLINE WITH MY PS3. its a 40 GB n i have a
Dell cpu and 2 ethernet cables and little optimism left. :(

I'd like to help but I don't know much about routers. I use a cable modem and switch the ethernet cable back and fourth between my pc and PS3. Anyways heres a bump it's hard to get into on this site late at night.

well for some odd reason the cable people told me my cable modem has a stronger signal with a USB than with my ethernet cable so im connected online from my tower to my modem to my box using USB...i dnt use ethernet to get online at all, n i think thats the main problem, cuz no matter what i try it doesnt work out that the PS3 finds anything useful......so you have a ethernet running ONLY from ur modem to ur tower n whenever u use the PS3 you unplus it from the modem? or from the tower?

I take it this isnt a wireless router. Well, what i think you should do is connect all of your devices using ethernet, usb wasnt designed to be an internet cable, and ethernet was. Its possible that while you have your modem connected to you router via usb, you wont be able to connect other devices using a cat5/6 cable.

Your best option for me its get a switch, then connect your PS3 DSL cable and the PC too [if u have one] then you share the internet with your PS3, thats what i use to do
