I had a "freezebox" 360 since Feb 2006 and i recently decided to trade it in for a PS3 60 gig. The reason is in the name i gave it, some games would freeze some wouldnt and some would freeze more than others. Also the DVD rom was getting louder as time went on it was annoying me. The ps3 OMG man this system is better than what i thought it would be, and I'm glad cuz i had to talk my wife into letting me buy it and give up some cool games like RS6. And i have to say that the games i had for 360 such as fight night and NBA2k7 i also purchased for the ps3 look and play smoother, and guess what it hasnt froze yet either and the system is really quiet not silent buy almost silent. I am also highly impressed with R:FOM and callofduty3 i been playing these online and ther A LOT of fun and this is coming from PC FPS veteran who only likes to play FPS with mouse and keyboard!!!!!!!!!. A surprisingly great investment and 600$ wasnt enough in IMO.
welcome to the world of the future. You were right to get a ps3 because the xbox 360 is already is losing a years worth of new technology since it came out. PLAY B3YOND and prosper.

Congratulation, and welcome to the family. But make sure you keep your PS3 well ventilated or you will have the same freezing problems as with your 360.
I had minor problems with my X-box 360. I just deal with it. I didn't trade it in for my PS3 because I wanted to have best of both worlds. Ever since I got my PS3, I had no problems with it. It's a very solid machine. Props goes to Sony for making a good Console this Gen.

congrats, yeah, i know what u mean by freezebox, like, a couple of min ago i just took out a dvd out of my 360, and i got a error message :S :P cant w8 til i get my ps3 next month :>
Hmm...posts like these really make me want to decide on a PS3 over the Xbox360. I had many, many problems with my Xbox freezing up and would really be annoyed if the same thing repeated itself if I purchased an Xbox360. I realize the argument for Xbox360 is that so far, it has a better game collection. But seeing as I'm nowhere close to having the money for a system and the fact that I predominantly play sports games anyway, I think I might be better off going with the more reliable system. The promise of better graphics is also luring me to the PS3 side ;)

Even if the graphics aren't better, I'm sure they'll be similar to the Xbox360. I doubt they'll be significantly worse. I'm leaning towards the PS3 because as I frequent the Xbox360 msg board, I'm pretty concerned about all the freezing compaints. Or the "disk reading error" complaints. Or the dreaded "scratched disc" complaints. I think I'll be picking up my system from Costco so the warranty on either system doesn't concern me. I would be mighty unhappy if the console scratched up my games though!
well i've had my 360 since launch and I haven't had any problems with it, "knock on wood". I'm sure they are problem with others all over the place but I think that goes for all new systems or any type of electronics. Thats the risk you take when you buy something new to the market.
I have my PS3 since December, and believe me its really cool, and my opinion the 6AXIS its awesome. the internet capabilities that it have and the physics whit the cell. It is just great. And I have the 360 too but for me the PS3 its better
