My 360 broke 2 months ago,and I would like to buy a new one.I'm not sure what to do though.I live in Europe and I'll buy my new console from the states(don't ask why).I'll either go with the elite or the PS3(because of its reliability). Is the elite more reliable than the other 360s or is it only better because of its 120GB harddrive? If it's not more reliable I'll definetly go with the PS3.I prefer the 360 though, because I have a lot of games for it and there's a lot of good exclusives. And if it's true that a blu ray 360 is coming out than I'll have to go with the PS 3 because spring break is coming and I'd like to have some fun.

From what I know the Elitie is not more reliable than the regular 360. And as far as the 360 blu ray drive that should come out around the same time gears of war comes to PS3.

i read some wear EGM or some were that the elite was made of parts that go thru more testing but i dont know if thats true. sounds like BS to me. if you already have alot of 360 games. and like the 360 line up better than get another 360 just be smart and get a warrenty. that way if it RROD you can just ship it in and have it fixed. i dont know what M$ warrinty is now but i would make sure it was coverd for atleast 3 years. that way you should be ok till next gen. and dont let the fanboys fool you, while the PS3 does have a better rep of reliabilty thay do F up to. its like if i beleaved half what i hear about toyotas then thay would be no toyato repair shops or spare parts LOL.

Well, being that you're posting in the ps3 forum, most people will say to go with the ps3, although some people here may own both a ps3 and 360, so you may get a few people who understand your position and will say to go with the 360.

This is a pretty hard decision since you say that you have a lot of games for the 360 and if you were to get a ps3 then all those games would go to waste. Although you could sell them on a couple different sites or to friends, but you would probably never see the money that you bought it for. Personally, I used to own an xbox 360 and I made the switch over to ps3. I could never have been happier with the choice I made. Everytime I turned on my 360, I worried about the RROD, the system freezing, scratching discs, or getting the unable to read disc error. I've owned the ps3 since December and it froze on me twice..both times being in December and it hasnt frozen on me since, and its not like machines are perfect, things like this will happen.

Anyway I dont want to go on and on, so to get back to your main question, I would go with the PS3 man, its been great. I really dont think you'd regret buying it. And as for your question if the elite is more reliable, im pretty sure that it is, but people have still been getting the RROD with them, so its not like it deffinetly wont happen if you get the elite.

the elite is slightly more reliable because it has a extra heatsink for the cpu or gpu i cant remember. And also the data tape from the optical drive to the mother board is much shorter which eliminates the problem of the other 360s because the tape was getting caught in the heatsinks and burning. But RRoD is about the system getting so hot that either soder melts or it warps the motherboard. So far they have change the soder to have lead in it, but they havent fixed the motherboard thing. Id suggest getting a ps3 but if u like the 360 just risk it for another elite.

Well the thing is that I live in Europe. And if it's going to break again I'll have to send back to the states, where I bought it from.So if the Elite isn't more reliable i'll go with the PS3.I don't want to buy another one afther this second purchase.

First off, contrary to what whiney fan boys say on this site, the failure rate of 360's is fairly low. Chances that your 360 is going to 'Red ring' are pretty damn low. I have had a 360 since Oct. 2006 that has had no problems whatsoever, as have many of my friends. I do have a friend who's hardware failed, but that failure was out of the box. He currently has a Pro that he has had since late 2006 and an Elite that he bought last year and both are doing just fine. The trick is to give your system proper ventilation. Don't stick it into a confined are where it cannot get propper air flow through the fans. I stand mine upright next to my TV.

As for games, in my personal opinion, the selection of 360 exclusive games is currently much better than that of the the PS3. Think about the future too. Right now, you can get Gears of War, Bioshock, Halo 3, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Mass Effect for the 360. Fable 2 is coming and so is Gears 2. The PS3, on the other hand, has Resistance and Uncharted (The remake of Ninja Gaiden is also good if you like pain). Remember that later this year, the PS3 will be getting Bioshock as well. It will also be getting MGS4 very soon, future Final Fantasy games, and God of War 3.

Finally, consider whether or not you want a Blu-Ray player. If you have an HDTV Blue-Ray looks incredible, but the cost of Blu-Ray movies is limiting right now and probably wont drop much until at least next year once Blu-Ray has a better install base.

I have had my 360 since 2006 and love it. I am getting my PS3 on June 12th when MGS4 is released (Preordered the 80Gb bundle at CircuitCity). If you want a 360, go for the Elite as HD space goes faster than you think. If you want a PS3, get the MGS4 80Gb bundle.

I have both systems and I got my 360 1st cuz it came out 1st duh. personally I like both sytems but the love my ps3 more. I feel at home when i use my ps3 ive loved the PS brand since ps1. Xbox 360 is good but I don't know I jsut like the ps3 better. I really cant say anything bad about the xbox except the failure rate still sucks. Ive gotten the RROD twice and the moter to my disk tray has blown once so that is a major turn off. If you have a good HDTV then I really gotta say go buy the ps3 right now hands down. If you dont then you have a decision to make. Personally I would go buy a ps3 it has many good games coming out withyin the next year for it and will not break. Also I think the 360 has way to many shooters and any other genre isnt really worth playing on the 360. Don't get me wqrong I love shooters most of my games are shooters but latly ive been getting kinda sick of them and want something different. Those are jsut my opinions on both systems if you want a more detailed answer you can pm me. Ive owned both systems basicly since launch so im pretty knowlagable about them.

I'd stick with your 360, you already have the games, and you're already accustomed to XBL.

the only real difference between the elite and regular is the hard drive and that can easily be upgraded. with mgs4 coming soon you should hey a ps3 and then replace the360 later

You will enjoy the PS3 don't get me wrong, but if you already have all those games listed on your profile page then is it worth switching systems?
