This morning I turned on my ps3 and a message popped up saying something like "Hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored". So i click on the restore button and the percentage comes up. It goes to 33% and stays there for a while but then it just continues to 100%. Then it restarts and the message comes again and I don't know what to do.

The PS3 is a 80GB phat and its a bit over 1yr old. And im out of warranty :(

I've seen some other people have the same issue but i don't know the solution.

funny enough i had the same problem today power it down keeping your finger on the button then power it up again keeping ur finger on the power button it will do some random beeps and give you a boot menu chose restore ps3 system and that should then format the partitioned space that has the coruption and start fresh . . . you will lose save game data but thats a price you will have too pay too get it sorted . . .

There's also an option on that menu to "restore file system" which doesn't cause you to lose anything. And since that's what the error said was wrong, I'm betting it'll fix it.

it wont do much good that option as it just runs the same back up utility that you get on the start up if it loops around then thats the only option . . .

I tried doing "restore file system" but still the message came, and i don't want to try "restore ps3 system" because i read that will wipe out everything. This is the worst thing thats happened to my ps3 by far.
