I am looking at upgrading my hard drive on my 60GB PS3 and was wondering if I get a 7200rpm drive instead of a 5400rpm drive will the PS3 noticeably heat up more or will it be about the same? Also what have you guys found to be the best and most reliable hard drive replacement?

Thanks

I've heard a mix of opinions when it comes to this question. Overall, it is recommended that you match the original HDD's 5400 rpms. However, I have heard of people using 7200 rpm drives as well with a great increase in load times. I have not done any replacement on mine "yet" but I do plan to put in a 320GB this summer. Check the offical Playstation site for more on this. Their forum has probably covered this 100x. And btw, I'm sure heat is not the issue.
