Hardened Edition codes from UK won't work in Canada?

Hello to all - I'm in need of as much information aspossible.

I'm from Canada and I pre-ordered a copy of the Modern Warfare 3 Hardened Edition from GAME.co.uk.

Now yesterday, I consulted a friend of mine who works at a Best Buy in my area and he told me that it was basically a big mistake on my part - UK's region locked, so the Founder status and extra features for Elite, all the codes are useless. I plan on cancelling the order if it isn't too late, otherwise, I paid £135 for the steelbook, the diary, and the game itself despite my focus being the content. I'm planning to call gamestores to see if I can get ahold of a copy while I sort this out. So what I'm trying to figure out first is, are the codes useless? Is my paid subscription useless here? Thanks a million inadvance.

As far as i know, you can download everything from the UK store and then you can switch back to your canadian account to play.At least that's what i did with infamous hero edition, bought it from the states and now i'm playing it on my UK account.
