Has anyone jumped to the 3D side of gaming or are you still with the HD for?

I am looking around for a new tv to game on for my living room & I might be interested in getting a 3D television. Before I purchased this...I wanted to know if some of my old buddies here & some of you newcomers have jumped ship to the 3D side or are still gaming in HD.

Well, i am gaming in both 3D and HD. I just bought a 42 inch Panasonic 3D plasma tv for my bedroom, and i intend on getting a 55 inch 3D plasma in a few weeks for the living room. I am pretty impressed with the 3D effects so far. Between my PS3 and my PC i have plenty of 3D games to play. Its a nice option to have. It can be very immersive. But beware, the quality of your 3D experience will very greatly depending on the type of television you have. I choose the newest of the Panasonic 2011 line-up. LCD and LED 3D televisions have major cross-talk issues which ruin the 3d experience.

I'll see what the future has in store for 3D, but right now there's not really too much interesting.

Having first hand experienced 3D TV with sport, movies and video games I would love to own 3D TV. Unfortunately, it's pricey considering I was able to afford HDTV around 3 years ago.

The technology on today's 3D TV's is too soon and too expensive for my every day budget that includes everything from rent to personal bills.

What I had been exposed with 3D technology is very satisfying but I don't plan to purchase another TV for next 3-5 years. Hopefully by then 3D TV will be more affordable and might not even require glasses, thou is probably too soon for that.

I won't be buying a 3 D tv for awhile, I just recently switched to HD gaming in December and I'm satisfied with that

Agree with the above comments, I would prefer a bigger HD tv at the moment. For me the 3D technology is still new and would maybe think about getting a 3D tv in 2 or 3 years time

I'll get 3D when it is at its best. Some say the 3DS is more 3D than those TVs. I'm gonna stick with my 42in hd tv Battlefield and Crysis 2 have me jaw-dropped the hole time and I've never really cared about graphics

I really don't the whole 3D craze going on now. First off all, I think it doesn't improve the experience at all, in fact it makes it much worse in my opinion and secondly, it's insanely expensive.

Does 3d just make it feel as if you're in the game? If so, I'd only really prefer that for horror games, as it'd up the fear factor. Not too much into 3d unless they can make a 19" 3d tv in years to come.

from most of what i've read 3d makes for a worse experience. some games aren't in full resolution when running in 3d. this could change in the future, but i don't really see the point now. whenever i get a new tv it'll probably be a 3d one but i don't see that happening for quite a few more years

I'm etching paintings on the wall of the cave right next to ya, man! SD user here, as well.

:D

After seeing The 3D Handheld I can safely say that even glasses-free 3D doesn't entice me one bit. The thing looked better to me with the 3D fader all the way 'Off' (played "Street Fighter 3D" and the "Pilot Wings" game). So having to wear glasses over my actual glasses, to be gently folded into a cross-eyed state? Not interested. I can SEE the 3D, I just don't care for it.

if one has the resources, why not, most of the 3d tv sets have stellar 2d image quality and have very high refresh rates along with led backlighting... yesterday i have tried playing the socom 4 demo in 3d and i was quite impressed with it, i can say it is better than kz3's 3d, which was quite good... i am considering buying motorstorm apocalypse just for its 3d, i am more into simulation or semi simulation (like the dirt series) racers but still... :) i do recommend 3d to anyone, who is able to see it and anyone who has the means to do it... :)

I am 90% sure that I will be making the jump to 3D within 2-3weeks. By the way, I plan on getting the Sony Bravia 3D KDL-55NX810 55" or KDL-55HX800 55".

3d gaming is a gimmick. I love seeing a 3d movie at the theather, but its because its on a 20' screen, not a little 42in one. Also, 3d hurts my eyes, and i know im not the only one, since nintendo discourages extended use of the 3ds. and when it comes down to it, having 3d, and HD dont make bad games good. graphics are one small part of a game.

actually the 3D looks better on a TV because of the high resolution , i can compare my experience with the same movies for example resident evil 3D , the 3D effect was much better at home on my sony bravia imo

sony KDL 46"HX800 , the movies are great , imo much better than when i viewed them in 2D for the sake of comparison , i never thought i will watch the same documentary movie about fishes multiple times but in 3D its fun everytime , its very deep almost like you would look thorugh a submarine window + some fishes are swimming outside of the tv so close to you that you can reach them with your hand. Action movies are fun to watch too in 3D - i have resident evil 3D , saw 3D and pirannha 3D , if you were on some of the movies in cinema you can imagine how it looks like , its basically the same , the image on my Tv is just a little bit sharper compared to the cinema as far as i can tell

only one of my friends have gone 3d. I played Killzone3, Black Ops and some other games on it at his house and it gave me a headache for a few hours after playing for 30 minutes. So I have no desire to make the jump to 3d

Feelings are to be respected. No one is questioning why you're so much for the concept; You're into it and no one is challenging you. The distinguished forum member was stating a viewpoint, the same as the rest of us.

I can't stand 3D movies, and I won't be buying a 3D television for my viewing or (especially for) my gaming because though I can see it just fine it's of no interest, and you didn't challenge me. What's the difference?

Respect To You.

Lol. Yes, i DO. For people who've known me here on GS for years KNOW that I never attack someone unless they attack me. For dude to come out without even knowing fully where I was going with this the question was lame. This is why people who don't know what they are talking about should just read the topics instead of post in them.

i find 3d lame and gimmicky, so i won't be getting it any time soon. especially if i have to wear 3d-goggels to watch anything. and especially since it costs 3-4 times as much. and especially since it gives me headaches.

back when they first came out i treid them at Best Buy, u know, there little test set-ups. and some 3d movies of course.
