Has Sony fixed the bug in the 40gig model of the PS3?

Just get the 40gb version and if it does come faulty you have a warranty, so there is no reason to worry about that.

Apparently the 40gb is going to be the only model now

take it easy people. i have a fanboy and troll radar installed in my pc.it did not detecta triplered ring on the display, tc's clean.

there is no bug in the 40gig model. your friend is bulls***ing at the source. end of story.

if this is the model that you are interested in,there's no need to worry.

I bought my 40 gig PS3 about 5 weeks ago and after 19days of use it stopped reading disc's. Don't know if it is a bug that affects all 40gig models or just an isolated case, but I did have to get my 40 gig ps3 replaced after it failed to read disc's properly.
