ICAN'T assure you that blu-ray will win and the ps3 will be #1 is sales. But I can assure you it will be a great console and it will have great content coming down the line. I would suggest you don't hype up every game that comes along and that you don't worry about what is winning.
PS3 didn't fail! and who said Lair and HS were good?
With MGS4 coming next year how can PS3 fail?
BTW it's too earlier to take conclusions on PS3 sucess based on Blu-ray movies sales!
Careful the sky may be falling tomorrow. . . We are far too early in the PS3's life to start with the doomsday junk. It really doesn't matter which CD medium wins the war, the PS3 will always be made on Blu-ray. Also, as far as the medium war goes it will be around for a while yet.
Warhawk is considered like a Killer App, Lair never really got any big attention (except for his beauty), and Heavenly Sword is the ULTIMATE rental (if it got more hours of gameplay it'll be a Killer App)...
There's haters everywhere..YES!...PS2 has got the same fate in the first year...But now MONEY buys anything!
It'S all about the money!

It is failing!so far it has failed in every country possible even in its home of Japan!sony had a plan to sell loads in Japan and it's failed and HD-DVD wins hand down in both price and quality so stick your ps3Oh wtf, this has been going on for over a frickin year! Isn't Sony dead yet? I mean, they said they were dead a year ago, and what, they're still here?
Honestly its annoying now, it made me laugh because of how untrue it was.
This whole generation of being negative about everything and everyone is really rediculous.
ya the ps3 is going down hill its actuly funny cause i thot the 360 would be a biglet down i guss i was wrong right now i think xbox 360 is the most dominate system (OK I DIDDNT PUT THIS TOGETHER I GOT THIS OFF OF http://www.gamespot.com/news/6178052.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=newsfeatured GAMESPOT FOURMS ABOUT THE PS3 WELL JUST READ IT OK) I find it amusing that every article concerning PS3 or Xbox360 turns into an all out system war.
I say why be dedicated and loyal to a system on brand name only? Why argue price points and polygon count? Why fight becaue one person prefers a system over another? Why does it matter which sells more?
I believe it all boils down to what YOU personally are looking for in a video game console. The facts are these:
1. PS3 offers blu-ray capability out of the box. 360 requires an add-on.
Now this is definitely a bargain if you want a blu-ray player, but also a downside if you don't need one and don't want to pony up $599 for a stand-alone game console.
2. The 360 has definitely had a better game line-up with GOW, Halo 3, BioShock, Dead Rising, Forza 2, Viva Pinata, Guitar Hero 2 (which of course was on the PS2 first), and was also and will also be the first system to see Oblivion, Rainbox Six Vegas, and GTA IV.
In response to this however, it appears PS3 is gaining ground with WarHawk, and Heavenly Sword, and MGS4 on the horizon.
3. As online gaming continues to grow, the 360 had a head start with the Xbox Live service that fully integrates into the games. Although the Sony PSN is offered free, they are in the middle of playing catch up to the millions of subscribers on Live.
Now, in my opinion, Microsoft leads the way CURRENTLY because of the games and services offered, NOT because either system is more powerful or can make expressos while simultaneously solving world hunger.
The price points can be argued, but one can also argue that consumers will purchase based on the system fulfilling their needs and choices, and it appears at this point, the360 is leading sales based on what it offers, not what it DOESN'T offer.
If you want a PS3, buy one. If you want a 360, buy one. Hell, buy both if you truly want to be a critic, but who cares what system is ULTIMATELY better as long as you get what you want[QUOTE="gibson-les-rick"]i feel your pain but i'm glad i did'nt buy a ps3, it is failing badly..fnsrawecw
GOW = God of War
GeOW= Gears of War
Also, I don't recall the 360 getting GTA IV first, it's a simultaneous release with exclusive downloadable content for the 360 which are supposed to be release at 6 months and 12 months from the games original release. Almost all gaming stations have mentioned that the 360 has a stong '07 lineup, while the PS3 has the definitive '08 lineup. LittleBigPlanet alone is going to be a milestone for the PS3, not to mention Unreal Tournament which will released this holiday with PS3/PC compatibility and Keyboard and mouse compatibility.
I say wait until NEXT fall too judge the next-gen consoles.
Its definitely had a poor first 10 months. And don't post some skewed sales figures, if you own a PS3, you know its not living up to expectations at this point. I really don't care for how SONY is putting time and money into HOME. They need to do more to get their games out, not focus on expanding an online service. How about putting a little more effort into the PSN store? NavigatorsGhost
Question do you even own a PS3 ever heard of game called Warhawk which totally kick axxx and is avaible on online to be downloaded.Lol do you even know Home is part of online service forthe PS3 maybe you should read up on Home before bashing it.
pointless post...no its too early to tell moronleon106
Just tell me why would you had to call me a moron???

It is failing!so far it has failed in every country possible even in its home of Japan!sony had a plan to sell loads in Japan and it's failed and HD-DVD wins hand down in both price and quality so stick your ps3 hd-dvd doesnt win sales, especially software sales and quality wise they are relatively the same but blu-ray offers more storage medium so your argument fails.no but they are failing-DirtySanchez-
Hows that? its selling better than the xbox 360 did in its full first year!
So do some research before you make such a statement
Sony is doing fine, it's not fair to bash the PS3, let alone the company, on a system that is not even a year old. I wouldn't worry too much about China and the HD-DVD format, Blu-Ray is doing just fine in America and Japan, I'm not too sure about Europe, I haven't heard any numbers, but since they recieved PS3's in March, we should see a spike in Blu-Ray sales this holiday when more systems are moved.Prinze
I have a ps3 so don't think I'm a troll, but the ps3 is not doing fine, they're suffering hugely.. Sony as a compnay has downplayed itself in the last few years. They don't really have anything that's truely innovative anymore, I remember when I used to go check out the latest technology I would go to the sony store but now there's nothing that really stands out, other than their rediculously high prices.. And you woulnd't worry about hd-dvd in China... Maybe you dn't read anyhting you buy but everything is made in China. If it's made in China, it's for the world. What they need to do is get exclusvie games, fix their online, keep their promises,LOWER THE PRICEand really focus on what's important and that's their true hardcore fans..
Nobody can truly say that they are happy with the ps3. Yes it's a great system, but it hasnothing to show us how great it is and nohtnig that truely utilizes it's capabilites. even the 360 has had a more successful first year than the ps3.
Alright dude, lets look at this before you freak out and freak out every one else. First, it is still just the first year. Sure PS3 hasn't had any gorund breaking games, and one of the most hyped games (lair) was garbage. But that dosen't mean that its down and out. Lets look at this from all the angles (this is not an attack against the 360, so x-box fan boys chill if you are reading this, this is a compleat outlook on everything as of right now) First, this is ps3s first time with an online service for a console. X-Box Live wasn't prefect in the X-Box stage, and didn't really perfect it's self until the 360. So the PS3 is still trying to play catch up for a service that is totally free (as of right now). Also you have to keep in mind that they will be bringing out Home soon, and we are still compleatly unsure what that has to offer. Next, HD-DVD might not last as long as you think (not saying it won't either) the X-Box to PS3 raitio in Japan still shows the PS3 is more popular and I beleive more owners. On that same note, Blockbuster here in the US has desided to support Blue-ray, it is possible that more still will follow. On that same note, PS3 offers you more for you're money at this point
The X-Box + HD-Dvd player
X-Box 360 "Pro" and Halo editions (349-399)
360 Elite (499)
HD-Dvd Players (179)
=
Pro-Halo (528-577 dollars before tax)
Elite (678 before tax)
The PS3
Normal 60 gig (499 before tax)
PS3 with motor storm and 80 gig (599 before tax, this is the orginal price of the PS3 mind you)
Right there, if you want a X-Box with a HD-Dvd player, you end up spending more then a PS3. Also it is known that the PS3 has more potential for better graphics and prosessing power then the 360.
Now, moving onto what seems like the biggest issue, games. 360 people have had a year head start, there is no exscuse that PS3 owners shouldn't have had some ground breaking games yet. How ever, 360 also, didn't have many "ground breaking" titles it's first year. It also seems that this christmas is loaded with goodies for PS3 owners. But if you are still intent on something. Wii owners (not a knock against the Wii, I own one) have hardly any games. The virtial console seems to be it's strong point. At this time, the only reason to get a Wii is if you play "party" games really. Zelda was great, but most every one has played and beat it by now. PS3 has gotten Warhawk, Tekken, Virtual Fighter, and sevral other OK games to tie us over until the serious launches happen. In point, the PS3 is still so early in it's life span you can't say that it sucks. There is no doubt that once developers figure out how to Multi-Platform with it, and dig into it's power, that you'll see games that go beyond what the X-box can do. On that note, X-box will still be able to hold a high ground with better online service and great games, not to mention it is Microsoft, Gates can pump money into it FOREVER to improve it.
So sit back, and wait. Lets just see what happens, give this whole console war a rest and the whole "who's failing and who's winning". Because in honesty, it dosen't matter, the DS is owning everything.
(Want to point out, that I actually own each system, so I am not posting on any bias, just opservaitions)

i agree with u on this sony hasnt really show wut it really is compable yet , it way to eairler to say that ps3 is failer, they are just been warming up in my opinion.
